No, don't, just get something else. The target market is for people who want to use it straight out of the USB. I think.

the only thing I dislike about the use of usb only is that I hate being tied down to my computer all the time. When I'm listening to music before I sleep, I dont want to stare at a bright ass laptop screen when I'm changing songs

Well, then what were you planning on using as a source? Just use the analog input.

My airport express will be for sale if I get the duet.

so either get an aex + cheap pda or get an older squeezebox (per nates suggestion )

well i use frontrow with my Airport Express. I guess i could utilize my iPhone too, but since my macbook has a remote and all, frontrow just works. course it's a little different when you don't use a mac.

Or don't have line of sight, which the aex makes easy . Putting the AEX away from the mac, means you could need to control a remote mac.

So did you find a solution to the optical/coax to USB?
