lala shutdown

I used to love Lala when it was just a CD trading site. They were great and also had a good CD store that had very competitive prices. When they moved to this music web-based listen nonsense I stopped using them. I guess I am just old-school.

Yeah, I stopped caring about lala when they shut down the CD trading service.

I still have (and wear) my free lala "Monday" shirt. I never understood the attraction to the pay per play system they adopted.

I actually loved the streaming service - never used the CD trading version. I liked that I could listen all the way through a song once for free. Then, if I had some interest in an album, I could "bookmark" it for a dime. I thought that was cool. Sadly, none of that looks to be in the future. It's just the access-your-collection-in-the-cloud part, which I rarely used. Why bother? Most of my collection, or at least more than Lala recognized, is on my portable at much better quality.

At a dime a song you could also do wacky things like making a play list from the 211 recorded versions of "Knocking on Heaven's Door".
