Colorfly C4 Pro

Freaking uses an alps pot with a crossfader type knob/switch. It also kills all the jitter.

Here is a lot more info on it from the manufacturer:

It was released last September. Sparing others the huddler blather, owners of it don't seem that impressed sadly, and at $800 that is a damn shame.

Interesting. It looks like the precision of 0805 resistance is up to 1% in the simulation.

Wildly retro looking. It has the design elements of 1960's audio and Mattel's handheld Football ca. 1976. Still, the glory in the guts is pretty surprising.

"Different pushrod operating experience." I love translations.

So who's gonna be first? I like the idea of something that small for work/commute. I really don't have a lot of space here...

Oh. I see no line outs available. And I'm wondering how that slider would do if the unit were rolling around in a coat pocket.

Unboxing video:

Pair that with a nice pair of metal Grados and you will achieve Steampunk Nirvana.

Yeah, even though it's an alps, I'm curious how they pull that off:

I know of no lint-free pockets.

But with regard to the first -- the Hi-Fi Choice article actually addressed this: although it's still a headphone jack, the 1/4" one outputs 2V, so all you need is an adapter.

Nice pic from another forum. Nice to see the display gets away from album art for a change. I wonder if their dB readings calculate for high or low impedance 'phones...(just sayin)
