Curious if anyone had already recabled their HD800? As a rule, I had always heard that silver plated copper wire was to be avoided for analog signals. Tends to sound bright and irritating.

got my big order in on Friday via FedEx. The first smaller order came thru the mail. Just FWIW... I got a DVD in the order as my freebie, Stan Clarke's Night School, 2002 benefit perfromance with lots of guests and what not. PQ sucks but sound is good and definetly worth the $0 I paid. The last track of the show, SCHOOL DAYS featuring about 6 other bass players including the late Wayman Tisadale is just incredible. Worth checking out as Borders and Best Buy are selling DVD's as cheap as $4 a pop these days.

Season 2, Episode 2...now it's getting interesting. Glad I have not read the books. Pure genius on someones part, buying the rights to the books and producing this series. I had never heard of the books before the show started. Based on the number of titles, this could be a long running series.

Season 2 Episode 1 was quite a shock to me because somehow I had missed the last episode of Season 1. Had to watch it on line from some crappy website that has little pop ups at the bottom of the screen advertising crap. No way my cheap ass was going to pony up for the BD box of Season 1. Cool shows to get me thru the hot summer: True Blood, Nurse Jackie, Weeds and hopefully Californication but I think it's stalled till fall.

Not to be a buzz kill but I would be interested in hearing about any Telarc SACD discs that pop or click between tracks. My copy of Garden of Cosmic Speculation that I just received does this. I remember hearing about this phenomenon sometime in the past history of SACD discs and SACD players. Can't really remember the details. I played a Chesky SACD right after this and it doesn't click. Just a minor annoyance but an annoyance none the less.

Have not and I have been away from the Pearl for several days and if I am lucky will get a listen tonight. I am sure the toslink in will sound (almost) every bit as good as the machine itself playing a disc. Also, found it interesting that the specs say it will play MP3 and WMA encoded (read compressed) discs burned on a PC. I am sure there are other CDP's that will do this but I never noticed on any machine I ever had except for maybe one of the "throw away when it breaks" Philips cheapies. Doubt seriously I will ever use this feature.

The sale was advertised as being good thru June. Worth digging around their screwed up website for $6 SACD's but aggrevating as hell. Concord's site has always been this way since they launched it. Concord or their website does weird shit sometimes. Their search engine sucks as well but the titles are still on sale. Basically it was all TELARC titles on sale. If you do a search for say LAGQ, some of their titles show up and the sale price is shown and then you have to dig around a bit for the others. When I posted this, the link went to about 200 Telarc CD's and SACD's that are still on sale.
