Post the last thing you bought!
Hehe, I would love to see what is inside those.

No, by perfect I mean, it was perfect. Awful with jazz, classical, and vocals (a.k.a. real music)? I'll totally agree with you.

Team Sony Unite!
Absolutely! It was perfect with that.
- Source upgrade?

Yeah, the pads on that Lambda were in terrible condition when I got them. I never got a chance to replace them since I only owned the Lambda for a few days and had to sell them in order to fund my source upgrade.

There's Something Disturbing About Ultrasone...
Haha. Don't know if he's morally willing to take that much of a single person's money though. (Assuming he maintains the same profit margin percentage wise.)

First gen TI-89 ftw indeed! Used to have 82 and first gen 83 plus as well. New gen TI-89 calcs are so funky to work with.

CD-R recommendations for burning music?
Ooh, I have a stack of those somewhere. I've only used them twice though.

There's Something Disturbing About Ultrasone...
Rumors were that Justin would do it if he got 50 dedicated preorders on a $1k amp.

It's okay. We're talking about earspeakers. Haha

No no no no. You're the master! I'm an apprentice. Yeah, the trend is definitely there imho. I never knew there was a shift in the sound of the adapters as well. I'm going to have to investigate different adapters in the near future.

Portable! Maybe we need to seriously considering petitioning someone for a portable amp. I wonder how many dedicated buyers (and what price point) Justin needs before he will consider building it.

CD-R recommendations for burning music?
Oh! I see. The burner inside the Mac could be sufficient; I don't know. Or you can get a good burner and stuff in it an external USB/Firewire 5.25" enclosure if necessary later on. Once you get your Taiyo Yuudens, burn something and run a scan on it with cdspeed. http://www.cdspeed2000.com/ It'll tell you how good your burns are. Some drives support the better testing program k-probe, but the Mac built-in burner probably doesn't. But maybe. http://www.k-probe.com/ Best of luck!

Oh! I'm going to need your help in hunting down an amplification solution later.

Haha so very true now that I think about it. Of course there are the Lambda Pro, Lambda Signature, Nova Signature, Sigma Pro, etc., but in the end, the real difference is that they all have different sound signature; it's not like one is specifically better than another.

That is one of the things I still need to try someday. People keep telling me to try recabling the SA5k considering it seems that I strongly appreciated some of the things it had to offer while at the same time being abhorred by many of the other things it did. Hey, Jason (jjcha) actually convinced me that I wasn't crazy in liking them. I ended up selling the SA5k since it was too flawed to be my main headphone.

Get a good burner. I cannot stress how extremely important this is. You will simply be flabbergasted by the number of errors that appear in burns from crappy burner. And yes, TY all the way.

Wait, the 4070 is portable?

Oh snap! I didn't have a good enough power amp to make them sound good. You seem to have the stuff though. Hope you didn't pay too much. Even though they potentially sound good, they're still just entry level vintage stuff.

Omega II sounds like total crap out of any Stax amplifier (and even just pretty good with the KGSS). They require wayyy too much in the amp to sound good.
