Heh. But how do we explain the Lambda Pro being better on the ES-1 than the HE60? Synergy?
-
Awesome. Really appreciate the impressions Elephas.
-
Thanks so much for the input Tom. I'm assuming by Lambda, we're referring to the Lambda Pro?
-
Perhaps it is time to seriously try the Lambda, Lambda Signature, and Omega II with the ES-1. By the way, how do you think the HE60 fits in? (Compared with the L3k perhaps.) Elephas as well, how do you perceive the HE60 in comparison with your other top-level headphones?
-
Hmm, very interesting. Lambda Pro greatly over the HE60. Could you elaborate a little bit more on how you think the three headphones compare? Just wondering Purk, have you heard the Blue Hawaii before?
-
I said that "I've been told". Is there anything wrong with that? I've only said things about two pieces of equipment I haven't heard: 1. People personally suggested getting powerful tube amps for the Omega 2 when I was considering building a Omega 2 rig. 2. My friends tell me the HP-2 is a neutral headphone that plays music as it was meant to sound like. I'm one of the people who criticize people for claiming certain things about gear they've never heard but don't point out that it was just something they read. I comment on things I've been personally told and point out that it was advice I had been given. Do you not yourself comment on things you've been told?
-
Ah, I see. That is great.

Light-weight awesomeness?

You get my Best Tip of the Day award.

Hehe, true. Haha well, I've seen them come up once in a while. Rarer than W2k2 and L3k. Relatively expensive though.
-
Hmm, what is your opinion of a long battery life? 5 hours? I personally don't know of any cheap laptops with exceptional stock battery life. I would however suggest getting a spare or larger capacity battery. That may free up some more options for you.
-
Looks like you've convinced me to start looking for one even though my expectations aren't too high. Wow, I was not ware of how high the market price for them were. I checked up on past auctions and they have been consistently selling for more than the W2k2 and JPN. *slaps self*

O2 with da mojo tube amps from what I've been told. (Aristaeus, Blue Hawaii, ES-1.)
-
Horns all the way. I personally haven't heard anything better than Avantgardes. I don't deny that I haven't heard much though.
-
Link not working, but I'm guessing I know what you're referring to.
-
Do you know if prices for the Lambda Signature and Lambda Nova Signature are similar? I was under the impression that the Lambda Signatures ran for quite a bit more than the Nova Lambda Signatures. (~$100 or more)

Audio Technica headphone question -- closest to leatherhead?
Nanoha replied to Dusty Chalk's topic in Headphones
The VTG and JPN are worth the value if you compare them to certain headphones like the Darth Beyers and Edition 9. If people are asking almost $900 for Darth Beyers and $1.2k for the Edition 9, I would accept that the VTG and JPN cost more than that. When I sold my JPN, most of the offers I got were in the $1.1k to $1.3k range. VTG offers were $650 to $750. -
The Nova Signature is supposedly a very different headphone in comparison with the Lambda Signature. From what I understand, the Lambda Signature is a more lively headphone than the Nova Signature. That Sigma Pro was once Venio's from what I've been told. They're very rare and are quite interesting headphones. They're however not for everyone; other than the atypical sense of sound that they provide, the highs are severely dropped off while the bass gives an almost overpowering present. I personally wouldn't recommend them as a starter 'stat. I would personally go with a Lambda, Lambda Pro, or Lambda Signature. I think Spritzer gave his preference of the Stax lineup in terms of a ranking in the rankings thread. Edit: By the way pabbi, do you have an idea of how much Lambda Signatures go for these days?

One of mine sold for much more. Worth twice the W5K? To me, yes. Half of the L3K? I wouldn't know. Never heard one. -
Something new to explore aye?

Audio Technica headphone question -- closest to leatherhead?

These two headphones are truly enjoyable in my opinion. The W10VTG is quite magical yet balanced while is the W11JPN is fantastically sweet and euphonic. I personally prefer the W11JPN's sound signature. I might be selling one of my W11JPNs in a few weeks; I'm not sure yet though. With regards to the W10VTG, some people have noticed variations in different ones. The difference in sound seems to be one between "magical" and "dull". I'm not quite sure about the specifics, but Jason (jjcha) seems to know the most about it. Dan's (Grawk) old, now Jay's (jbloud) W10VTG is an example of the best of the crop apparently. Back in the day, a number of people (one of whom was Scott, overlunge - team organizer of ATOWF) were reportedly rather unimpressed by the VTG. It is most likely that theirs were not of the "better ones" unfortunately. As to how to tell the difference without comparing them first-hand, I am not sure. As for the W11JPN, I've owned a number of W11JPNs (ranging from #23 to the one of the last ones), and though I haven't compared them thoroughly, I don't think there have been obvious variations in the production run. -
I think so as well.
-
Hehe, that is exactly what I guessed was in the box.

I'm not even sure what to say here.

Don't worry about it. That has always been his personality.
