  1. input impedance of amplifier is 10k, so this might be an issue. if you have a scope and signal generator, might test with this first.
  2. something very wrong. Suggest you measure output and power supply voltages.
  3. that one line at diyaudio will cause tens of thousands of hits worldwide that will circulate forever. sweet. once someone actually builds it, they are probably going to find it does not perform as they might expect. dc levels before the output caps are going to drift like crazy. The 5M and 10M resistors may simulate well, but the real things are loaded with capacitance and inductance, and in practice not going to work as planned.
  4. We all know a person who built a T2 as his first project ever. Then built a second one. Then built all sorts of stuff. And has not looked back since. But probably not a good idea for the timid.
  5. there was a group buy of boards. all gone now. lil-knight seems mia at the moment, if that continues, someone else will have to do the next board run.
  6. PMBFJ177 is equivalent to the piece of shit cavalli is using in his overpriced pieces of crap and it sounds like absolute dogshit too. designed for switching use. not for analog audio.
  7. where is the p-channel to go with it.
  8. that kid is a little to old for singlepower tube rolling. for the megatron, since the tubes are stacked, and the grid bias really is pretty close, it really would work.
  9. sure why not do the singlepower tube rolling. as long as someone else does it. I have a large box of singlepower tube rolling disasters. el360, and other things that cannot, or should not work. The EL156 is something that actually should work. Subject to a very large bottle sitting on a very flimsy adapter. What bad could happen.
  10. edit: the adapter wires the tube as a tetrode, so it would be completely plug and play.
  11. trivial and almost instantaneous buy some tubes, and use these http://www.ebay.com/itm/1PC-EL156-TO-KT88-10Pin-to-8Pin-Vacuum-Tube-Convert-Socket-Adapter-/221235762073?pt=Vintage_Electronics_R2&hash=item3382add399 requires slight rewiring to add g3. as for the 13e1, those are brutally priced
  12. birgir could always use cavalli. Tie him to the hood like a dear. But first he would have to do a Hansel and Gretel on him. The guy is pathetically thin.
  13. he needs extra dead weight in the trunk for winter
  14. one chicken on each of the 4 x 6c33's
  15. This will warm you right up. So will the thing blubliss just finished up. he should post a few pictures. He could cook 4 complete chickens on that thing.
  16. looks real to me
  17. well there is this http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/sqss1.jpg I'm not going to finish the ultimate preamp till a reliable source of audio grade complementary jfets is available. Too many fakes out there to design with old stuff, and linear systems is a bunch of incompetent fucknuts. But I do have a working one on the bench. It has to be a jfet input otherwise the input impedance is too low and the bipolar parts have too much offset with high impedance sources.
  18. i think only one of those were ever built
  19. not sure what software you are using, but this board file is the same as every other one I have done. may not be compatible with some panelizing software, but have produced thousands of boards with the software I use.
  20. http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/rk27quad.zip
  21. like this http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/rk27quad.jpg
  22. is each section 10mm from the next, and hole size or a pdf of the quad pot
  23. does not work with some sources. ends up with a dc offset, or causes issues like eddie current has with the electra
  24. i can whip up a board if you want to have some made. birgir has boards for the alpha pots
  25. if you can unsolder the power supply electrolytics from those 5 or more layer computer boards, and the caps still have 2 wires sticking out of them, then you are ready to work on stax.
