goddamn, must have taken forever. I listened to it with the sound off, it was a great music video for the first two tracks on In Absentia.
  7. Me too. I think I might just jump all over the next used OIIMK1 that pops up. That last one at $1350 was a good deal.
  8. Right on, sounds like cantsleep's SR100 is more for collectors then. Thanks for your response.

that animation is the shit. did someone really do that shit taking still shots and redrawing that shit over and over? fucking wild. reks the craigslist made me laugh, thanks.
  10. cantsleep is selling his SR100s right now. $400 is pricey though. You feel the cans are worth $400 Julien?
  11. Okay Stax fans, here's a query: I run my Lambda from an SRD-7/SB powered by my 840A. I've been getting lots of static electricity tonight on my legs and what not when I stand up out of my chair. While listening to my 840C with my Lambdas, I stood up to make an adjustment to my turntable, and I felt a disturbing tickling sensation in my right ear. It felt mildly electrical, enough of a "ah!!" feeling to jerk the cans off my head. Any idea what this is? I ended up just putting the cans back on my head, and I'm listening as we speak.
  12. nevermind, i can't come up with a source for my false information anywhere. scratch the "this is their last album bit". I must have forgotten that wu-tang is here forever, muthafucka.
  13. did I just pull that straight out of my ass? i swear to god I thought I read it here of all places.
  14. a friend of mine's boyfriend is the promoter (Live! Love! Revolt! Booking). she told me it cost $50,000 to book them, so tickets are $45 advance. Its also on a worknight, and they probably won't take the stage until 11pm. But even with all that, I really have to go. This is probably their last tour since 8 Diagrams is the last album.
  15. Wow, that is cheap! This could be a fun device to just have out and about at WiFi hotspots and what not. I see it also comes in black, which is good.
  16. straight from the slums of the shaolin: STFU
  17. nah, there's better amps then the Melos for Grados IMO. I preferred the Dynahi to the Melos with both the HP2 and RS1. I can't speak for the SR100, but I could assume my findings would be similar. I concur with orenthal james and nato crisp though: currently your cash would be most effective on your upstream components.
  18. Yup yup. I don't know whether to attribute this to the button or the recable, it could be either. On the buttonless RS-1, Phil's vocals are smooth and easy, if maybe the tiniest bit muffled, like a less liquid and refined HP2. On the buttoned recabled RS-1, Phil's vocals are clearer and more forward, but the peakiness can hurt my head a little. This midrange reminds me of the W11JPN midrange, which was fatiguing to me. Instruments do seem to have more room to breathe on the recabled RS-1, and treble hits have more clarity. post count +3 yay.
  19. In April I'm going to New Orleans to see Ministry at the House of Blues. I'm pretty pumped since I've loved Ministry since 6th grade and have never seen them live. Touring with Al & Co. are two bands called Meshuggah and Hemlock. I did a little research and Meshuggah last night on amazon, and they sound like a pretty badass math-metal band. Hemlock I know nothing of. I'd like some albums recommendations for Meshuggah and Hemlock if any of you have any (Dusty?). Thanks!
  20. There is a peakiness in the upper midrange of the recabled buttoned pair that is fatiguing. This fatigue is simply not present in the buttonless pair.
  21. After doing an "Invisible Touch" shootout, using the 32VD-1023 Black Triangle pressing, its obvious the recabled pair offers more overall clarity, especially in the midrange. The buttonless RS-1 with stock cable does come across as slightly muddier, but only relative to the recabled pair. I'd really like to hear an apuresound recabled buttonless pair for comparison, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. The buttonless RS-1 does sound more neutral, meaning less trebly and peaky in the upper midrange. I could be mistaking this for less clarity? More listening will tell. A more interesting comparison will be the serial numberless RS-1 with stock cable vs. the buttonless RS-1 with stock cable. I'll keep you all posted.
  22. x2, seriously pretty cat.
