I may have to pick some up though I hate that they're cal-trans orange, they start to look really gross too quickly. And UPS says that my triple-fi's are out for delivery! I'm psyched. EDIT: I guess I haven't looked recently but comply tips are available in black and other colors now. Good times.
  3. I took my cat to the vet due to recurrent infection on his foot. He had to have surgery and is a sad, sad cat with a cone for the next 2 weeks.
  4. I like how the author insinuates that etymotics have soundstage.

I remember you saying that. I lost my first pair of se530's not long after yours and I also haven't ever seen them again. I know that the only place I could have lost them was around my house, possibly around the garden but man are they gone daddy gone.

Thanks, it was updated and is in processing. I've been hearing that a lot lately.

FOr all of you waiting for you triple-fi's to ship, I just got an email saying mine have, though UPS doesn't seem aware of that yet.
  8. you can try super cooling them and putting dc current through them.
  9. I have to assume that keg screws are universal right? I'm not all that familiar with screw size and thread size. I could however make sure by testing it out at my works kegs.
  10. How did I miss this one. Hilarious.

Do they still work? I'd fill those bitches with epoxy and call it a day. If they're built like the se530's the housing is arbitrary since the armature drivers are completely sealed by themselves. Filling them with epoxy wouldn't change how they sound and you could probably drive over them and they'd still work.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can get it resolved quickly, though I'm sure that they have back orders to take care of I've heard that they have excellent customer service.
  13. Of course it's tempting but I'll make a more traditional one.
  14. I can do that but I'll need a threaded bolt (the part that would screw onto your tap) that I can epoxy into it. There's no way to create a working thread with the ceramics I use.
  15. I've been thinking about how to go about this. I shouldn't have a problem with making it but firing it is another story. Ceramics don't like to be rigid. When you roll out a slab the way in which the platelets compress together causes them to want to warp in the firing process. I'll definitely try it but if it turns out wonky I'll send you a picture and if you don't want it, I won't take it personally at all. I'm really doing this because I need to practice my technique and figured I could make some stuff that people might want and won't just go in the garbage when I'm done. Do you happen to know if a template can be found for each plane? That sure would make it easier.
  16. Yes, it will. I'll be sure to use a smooth glaze along the points of contact. They will probably be sans ears to avoid any headphones that might not like them like grados. You bet, you're a much better and more meticulous craftsman than I am. I actually never though about this but I would wager that Marcel DuChamp's urinal is the most widely known piece of ceramic art in the united states.

  18. most of my stuff turns out scary. I suppose I should bring that up in therapy.
  19. Here are some of my early attempts at making faces out of ceramics. I let the weight deform them and can make a more representational head but don't expect some greek masterpiece.
  20. Sorry if there was any confusion but edipis is correct, they will all be shaped like the head of a penis.:reksy:
  21. Oh man, I haven't listened to miles yet though these phones. I have to check out sketches of spain as soon as I get home.
