  1. Some layout changes and the small transistors have been changed to what should be available for the foreseeable future.
  2. They are there to protect the transformers from overload situations so they can be removed. Just don't do anything stupid with the volume...
  3. Not really, I simply haven't run out of the prototype boards yet. It is also far more limited and intended to be run at just +/-400V. Only IXYS CCS and only matched K170 input fets too. There is also the issue of close proximity of the traces so careful soldering is a must have with those boards.
  4. I have to order some more parts in before I can finish this but I have the chassis ready. In other news, new KGSSHV boards showed up today. They've been listed on my website if anybody needs a set.
  5. The one on the left is real but the one on the right... yeah... Even though I have more than 1000 2SC3675's in stock I don't think there is any sense to use them with the 2SC4686A available. Having the main CCS short to the chassis isn't fun...
  6. With the ECR-400 I'd just wire the transformers directly to the input and see what happens. Thermistors don't last for long , let alone 40 years. No transformer I can think of fits the SRA-3S but most of the stock units can be rewired to at least 117V. Some even for 230V...
  7. My offer timed out so it wasn't me. They also just had the one listed and not multiple units under the same listing... I did just buy a yet another SR-Omega so I can't complain...

  11. Well we've been using them in the KGSSHV for a few years now and the 2SA1486 would always work as a replacement too.

    The gain on the KGST is the same as on all the other 'stat amps we've done. Volume pot impedance doesn't matter so how much voltage are you feeding it?
  13. That's pretty much what it is. A KGSSHV with the last stage removed and the gain stage beefed up.

  17. Use Vishay's and lift them off the board which does the same thing.
  18. I've pretty much cleared out all the Japanese sellers at this point but you don't need that many. Use KSA1156's in the front end so you just need a handful per amp.
  19. No capacitors or resistor issues that I'm aware of. These are generic parts so there are always subs.
  20. I sent them an offer for one so we'll see. Expensive shipping given it's next door and less than 1kg...
  21. The 2SA1486 is perfect for this role and so is the STN9360. If you have a KSA1156 that measures well above 600V then it will work too. Just remember the pinout difference.

  23. Not a chance in hell that those are real. Bdent has the real deal but they are not cheap. On the new boards these will be swapped out for STN9360's.

    I wouldn't use the KGSSHV psu as it just doesn't like that load. No mods possible with that PSU board which is why we are slowly working on a new one.
  25. Try switching to the 3GS/4... it is just comically small in comparison.
