Dear God. NSFL imgur album of the explosion aftermath. This thread on reddit is offering some realtime updates. It sounds like the fire @ JFK Library in UMASS Boston is unrelated, but reports are conflicting.

Wow. The explosion happened right outside of the office of a woman I know. She's fine, but severely rattled. This is supposedly a photo of a suspect in custody:

I just got off the phone with a friend of mine. She's a nurse and was at the marathon. She had left early and was on the train when the bombs went off. She got a bunch of texts from friends asking her if she was alright. She's fine of course, but given that she used to be an ER nurse she's now upset that she wasn't around to help.

I just found out that Ronnie Kwon, a DJ and promoter that I used to work with died suddenly. I took this photo back in the summer of 2008, when I was visiting Northampton to buy slide film. Little did I know that it was sidewalk sale day, and downtown NoHo was a zoo. Ronnie was DJing in front of Dynamite's then new location (where it didn't last very long, sadly.) Over a decade ago, I worked with Ronnie extensively at was at that time the biggest night in the valley: LUSH @ Silent Cal's. That was so long ago it predates me being a photographer(!) so I have no photos from that era. Ronnie himself took a ton of photos during those days (which were really good, I might add). He made a bunch of 8x10" prints and hung them up in the club during the night. Also sadly, none of those pictures appear to be online. I had meant to ask Ronnie about the vintage LUSH shots many times, but now it that's an impossibility. This is the most recent shot I have of him, and it's from nearly 5 years ago.
