  1. Video game "demakes":
  2. Truefax: This was one of the first albums I ever owned. My uncle bought it for me not long after I turned 7. I have owned a lot versions of it over the years. The original 1981 release on cassette and vinyl, the 1992 re-issue with Cargo, and now the 2009 remaster (which also features a remaster of Cargo. I've been casually listening to the 2009 remaster and so far it sounds really good. I'll see about producing some waveforms later.
  3. I agree, that was the most part of the whole thing.
  4. Accidental double exposure, taken with a Holga and ...Tri-X, I think.
  5. I'm not exactly a fan of Jewel, but this is pretty cool.
  6. Ugh. imgur has been "upgrading" their features.
  7. What the actual fuck?
  8. From Mick Chillage, the Irish ambient artist: "Quad amp, old school mac LC and midi interface, SCSI zip drive, external CD rom drive for my EMU sampler library and Philip Reese Midi merge Box for anyone not old enough to know ; ) All this stuff is still used today.. 19 year old Mac LC still handling all midi duties in my studio.. (RIP, Steve)" One of my favorite tracks by Mick: Sorry I don't have it in higher rez.
  9. Finally had a chance to sift some older shots. Goofing with my manual focus-only EF 35mm F/2. Happy people on the dancefloor. This shot has a cinema verite feel to it. Brostep DJ looks a lot better than he sounds. The same is true for DJ HeavyGrinder. Doing a little bit of crowd isolation with the EF 50mm F/1.4's super shallow DoF (even on a cropped sensor camera.) All but the first shot were taken on a difficult night last spring where I arrived at a gig with dead batteries in my 580EX and no spares. Bad photogrpaher, bad. That meant I had to shoot available light for the entire evening, which was no biggie, that's my specialty. It also meant I had no AF assist beam. The 30D's AF is CRAP in low light without the 580EX helping it. I had to learn how to use the FTM ability of my 50mm F/1.4 on the spot. At the time it was incredibly stressful, which contributed to me not putting as much effort into sifting and editing the images as I usually do. Who wants to keep re-living a trying situation? In retrospect I got quite a few useable shots, far more than I thought I did at the time.
  10. Steve Jobs and his wife at the last keynote he gave.
  11. and
  12. TIME magazine issue redone in 3 hours(!)
