  1. Been busy recently filling in some holes in my collection. Stryke – Rare & Remixed Lypid – The Sign's Alive I'm always after Fila Brazillia remixes. Chill Out in the City: Second Cut So rare it's not on discogs. It's also the only way to get the original mix of France & Dom's "Blue Smoke" (which I have in a crappy 192K mp3 for nearly a decade now.) Holmes Ives – Tetrasomia I bought the stunning "Kuanos" in FLAC from Music Is Here after hearing it on Groove Salad back in '06. I decided to buy the whole album and MiH no longer has it. BeatPort wanted $2.75 per track for .wav files (cretins) so I spent half that an got an actual physical CD. I'm amazed sodding BeatPort stays in business.
  2. Damn, dude. Removing the faulty (wired) router from my network chain has made for a notable improvement. I think the router had been dying for quite some time. A year ago I got 500+ K/s when leeching off my friend's server. Earlier this year, it dropped to 2-300K/s. A month ago, it was 150K/s and last week it varied hugely but dropped as low as 20K/s. Last night it was saturating my downstream at 1.5MBps. I need a "Memorex" smiley here.
  3. What was that about Nikon macro lenses?
  4. Wow. Mirror's Edge is $5 on Steam until tomorrow. I have been waiting forever for that game to go on sale.
  5. Spent the entire day un-fucking my home network. It turns out that my (now 10 year old) wired router was going bad, and finally went tits up today. That meant I had to reset and re-program my Airport Extreme, which had been acting as a WAP-only. Making this whole task more difficult is the fact that my ISP is displaying their usual level competence and I've had to reboot my cable modem 5 times to get a signal strong enough to connect. Due to this unscheduled misadventure, I've had to scuttle plans to get a new mobile phone today, and to visit my favorite grocer. Still on the agenda is looking for a charger for my backup phone, and raining the Scotch cabinet.
  6. I'm gonna quote Volt quoting me. Also, /me head asplode. That's Mighty Malts indeed.
  7. Tyll spent years on head-fi, acting as the representative of one of the largest online headphone and amp retailers. Giving sound advice to blithering cretins is his specialty.
  8. We demand bigger pictures! How about a little speaker porn? We are the Soundlabs. We have come for your children.
  9. Hidden stack of pancakes on the 5 dollar bill.
  10. They were busted for refusing to put orange safety triangles on their buggies.
