  1. With all due respect that's a fallacy and not a great analogy in the least... I have a 2012 BMW M3 with 75K miles that redlines at 8300 rpm...a V8. It's not cheap to maintain but it also does not have fundamental issues and falls apart in important places. I race a Jeep Cherokee Trackhawk that weighs 5,617lbs. Boosted motor that I repeatedly beat in the heat at WOT for a mile at a time. Stop it...rinse and rotate. I run E85 that I can find at the pump. Boost is pushed to the max of the catalytic converts. It's shaped like a brick and I run 185mph in a standing mile and 10.3 sec's in a quarter mile...zero drama for a U.S. based, assembled in Canada and Mexico tub...no drama and I do most the work in my driveway. Performance w/o drama. I love Italian cars but...no, just no on that analogy. Sorry...nothing personal...just a topic that I spend a lot of time and energy and reading on. HS
  2. Yes...beautiful and very expensive to maintain. Forget about reliability....which, if you're buying one of those I fully expect is a secondary consideration. I need my caffeine though....LOL. HS
  3. Sexy. Hopefully built better and easier to maintain than Italian cars. Having said that, they can be a whole lot of fun... HS
  4. What grinder did you say you were using, ER? HS
  5. Very nice, ER. I use a several year old food scale from Amazon we also use to weigh our pooch’s meals. That scale looks very high tech relatively speaking. HS
  6. Godspeed, Dusty. Grateful I got to see you before you moved on... HS
  7. Definitely need a scale that goes up higher than that, ER, but glad it went your way. I use the bleached filters and soak them properly. Don't care for those "natural" ones so much. I use between 20-30g of coffee on a 15:1 ratio (depends on time of day), bloom, then at a point where I'm at a high on the fill I'll take a metal straw or the like and give the slurry a brisk but short mix. Love my Chemex. HS
  8. Nice looking! I was planning on swapping the Speedmaster Spectre back on the bracelet, which is nicer than I expected, but the seems made for the NATO so that’s where it has stayed… HS
  9. Very nice, ER. I'd like to see more of the bracelet if you have another shot. Do you happen to know when Omega went from the 861 movement and evolved it into the 1861? HS
  10. https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2021-ford-f150-vs-chevrolet-silverado-ram-1500-pickup-truck-comparison-test-review/?wc_mid=4035:21659&wc_rid=4035:34077707&_wcsid=1BDC12963F01F75244A2F56AAF617939D21C6CF956822E56 No comment... HS
  11. ^this...way too young. Godspeed, Biz... You gave me and my boys a lot of joy...hope you're in a good place. HS
  12. One of those gems just sold on "Bring too much money to a Trailer" for something like $211K if memory serves. Super sexy and definitely full tilt race car. HS
  13. That looks like a heritage...yummy chow, LW! HS
  14. I think I may be getting a bit obsessed with the idea of buying a Dodge Viper... Gen 2 or the Heritage version they put out on a limited basis in 2013. Really like the blue with white stripes... HS
  15. A boiling water rinse of those chemex filters is needed regardless of their age IMHO. The nice thing is it also serves to heat up my chemex carafe so the coffee is hotter once I'm ready to pour....I swirl around the hot water once it's made its way through the filter. I have the Japanese coffee on my agenda... I really like hot coffee so it's not often I'll drink iced. Need to try it anyhoo... HS
  16. Sweet Land Rover! Nothing like the smell of diesel... HS
  17. Feliz Cumpleaños, Jose! Great looking boy...you must be very proud!!! HS
  18. Just wrapped up season 1 of the Leftovers. TMoney called it well...a bit tough to get through the front end...definitely not a linear story line. A few characters beg for a good smack into reality, but overall engaging. We'll see how the next season goes...I'm in it now. HS
  19. I've seen it on some show or youtube video but never in person. What amazing machines we build back in the day! In many regards the technology created so many decades ago has not evolved all that much when you look at some of the high end vehicles of the day... HS
  20. I agree...a bit of a PITA unless you are on a day off but it's pretty darned yummy. And a nice change for one that's been using a press forever as I had been when I tried it a few years ago. Time...what a trip in this environment. Feels almost non-linear at times as I think back on the last year plus... HS
