They had a lot of Taylor's and GC and a few at Guitar Sanctuary but I have not tried any of them. Thanks for the chart link.

I actually played the 000-28 EC at Guitar Center today. guitar sanctuary only had a used martin Dreadnaught. I can comfortably play the Dreadnaught but I think I liked the 28 better. What size is that considered to be?

Tried a bunch of different guitars. Could not tell a whole lot of difference in sound between most of the acoustics but I really liked the Collings Dreadnaught, mostly based upon looks and build quality. I tried several electrical guitars and several matchless, VOX and Mesa amps. Electric guitar was a lot of fun and the difference between amps was pretty dramatic. I really like the Mesa amps but the VOX seemed pretty good for a bit less. This is the Collings I was looking at.

Back in the states. Going to a concert tonight at guitar Sanctuary so I hope I might be able to hold some guitars. Not sure I even remember any chords at this point.

That is a DGT in Eriza Verde. Trying to get pricing info as I am not sure if it is a $4k guitar or a $20k guitar. Sometimes I see one that looks cheap and find it is expensive as Hell while the ones I think look great are cheap.

Guitar Sanctuary just posted this pic of a couple used PRS they just got in. Digging the green one. Funny enough I was reading about their customer appreciation party and a friend of mine from High School is playing the party. Would have been nice to make it to that one. Could have gotten him to help me pick some guitars.

I was actually looking at the S2 Line from PRS as they are made up the road in Maryland. I also was looking at this 408 on Sweetwater.

Thanks for the advice. The number of options available for each model of guitars leads me to believe I really need to do some research. I have been looking for a new hobby to blow cash on. This might be a good choice. Might buy one of those Martin guitars as I think you have to have at least one Martin for the tone. Then I can see if I actually take the time to remember how to play. Anyone tried the rocksmith game with a guitar. Seems like a decent refresher course as I am going to need some serious work I think.

I decided not to necro-bump Bryan's 2009 thread as it was kind of specific and not in my budget. I played through high-school but have not played in 20 years. I am looking to get back into playing and I am looking for a great acoustic and a decent electric setup to start with. I am thinking about looking into a full custom for the acoustic but it is pretty hard to figure out how they handle from websites. A few decent shops around my parents place in Dallas that I intend to check out when I get back there this weekend. First on the list is http://www.theguitarsanctuary.com. Has a decent selection of factory and small shop guitars to try out. I know there are several players here at HC. Anyone have any favorite acoustic makers that I should look in to?

Good to hear. Whenever I have had surgery I have found that a lot of the lack of motion, weakness has been more mental than physical as it just seems like you are going to hurt yourself when you do something that feels a bit off. Once I get over that I usually heal very quickly.

This is the new one, not the one from November. Evidently the master cylinders failed in the races and everyone rode off cliffs and into trees or something.

Looks like another SRAM recall. Hydraulic road brakes have a stop using immediately recall after numerous failures at the Cyclocross races last weekend.
-
Damn, I didn't realize that was on tonight.

Another interesting video.

We talked to a rider at the shop about that ride. He said the locals hate cyclists so much they actively try to crash them and destroyed a monument to a killed cyclist and have been known to fire their guns into the bike shops.

We are still waiting for her to show up.

Day 3 was tough for me. Really should have been riding more leading up to this so my seat did not feel like a razor blade on the last day. I ended up being a full .5 MPH slower than the group as pedaling was not a lot of fun as I was approaching 100 miles for the weekend. Had a great time and really appreciate most of the Florida crew showing up to make it such a great HC Cycling Team event.

We found a storage space for Raffy.

Day two is down. Raffy, Ben and I are around 80 miles total now but adding Mike and JP today made a big difference as did riding with the group. Today was a much more enjoyable ride.

Cycling Supplements.

Yeah, everyone was pretty fit and I really saw no one that wasn't able to keep up a decent speed. My biggest challenge was trying to keep with Raffy and Ben when I could get no draft off either. After not being on the bike in 5 weeks I am seriously out of bike shape. The park was quite nice, kind of felt like riding through a zoo as everything seemed so well groomed in the park. Did not see any gators but we did see a dead catcoon and a snake.

Happy Birthday Tom.
