Yup. I picked up a bottle on a whim today, not as "complex" as some of the older ryes but damn it's super tasty and drinkable.

Bulleit Rye. This stuff is actually pretty darn good.

Hard core ginger! Doing some Sam Adams Long Shot now. Earlier was Shiner Double Wheat. Next I think it will be time for some rye.

I have some chops in the fridge I need to cook up. I also welcome suggestions. I've been watching to much Anthony Bourdain and have the hankering to spit roast an entire lamb.

Hawaiian pork butt. Cut slits and rub it up good with some kosher salt. Topped with pineapple slices and banana peels. In the oven now cooking to it's final temp.

That looks so good. I have the munchies now. Al just saw the question about the corn. I usually wrap them in tinfoil with butter, pepper and salt and put them in the back and rotate them around while the meat is cooking. Soaked corn husk works as well just doesn't get butter infused.

NB Somersault. Much better than their last summer beer.

Okay but nothing to write home about.

Great news Nate, hope all is going well and things are on the up and up.

I miss being able to get good fish. Atlantic Steelhead?

That is what I call a proper grog.

Not enough time for the cannibal bones today, but these should suffice. Marinating them every so often with some apple juice.
-
Baby backs cooking with some apple wood on the Traeger. Figured now that it works and is all clean might as well cook something on it.
-
If you have the Traeger recipe book try the cannibal bones. Some of the best ribs I have had/made. If you need it I am sure I could scan a pic. I replaced my heating element today. Neglected to clean out the pot and it got a bit full of ash which led to the early demise of the element. Keeping it clean and having a extra element on hand is key I would think.

I though about looking for some wine there but I didn't really know what to look for. If anybody has some suggestions for some here in Germany I am all ears.

Drove to France. Figured I might as well play tourist while I am here in Germany. Visited the cathedral in Strasbourg which was pretty amazing. Makes me realize I need to come back again and stay longer next time. Had a good time chasing a Austin DBS down the A5.

Neckarmuller Weife. Made locally in Tubinger. Good stuff.
