Not really good enough, at this price point. On the bright side, my old 600s originally had an annoying squeak at the fore/aft adjustment point of the ear cups and it just seemed to sort itself out after a few days sitting on my grape. Never heard it again.

I seem to recall Nate saying, after reterminating several of them at CanJam, that it appeared to be entirely adequate in both materials and construction and that he would not personally bother to change it out.

Went for a run. Trying to get back into a healthier mode after CanJam, but it felt like I was still dragging around about 12lbs of Carl's Junior and I ended up drinking most of an excellent bottle of pinot sourced from Ken last night so ... yeah. No records were set.

Nate's touchiness is undiminished. I did get a little time with the Ref 1 in jp's rig and I thought it sounded good. Sure we'll get a much more comprehensive report-back from him.

I saw someone break an HD800 in the HeadRoom room. He tangled his feet in the cable and yanked it from the table, popping off one of the ear cups. Interestingly, it was one of the pre-production models and Tyll said the retaining pin that had failed was the main component that was redesigned for the current batch. I offered to stomp on one of his new ones to see how well they did, but he wasn't up for it.

Just be very polite at the Genius Bar. It's not like this is an unknown issue and there's probably a pretty decent chance they'll take care of you out of warranty.
