Well, they came. #322 and, after listening to the HF-2s all day, they sure sound ... different. PS: No squeaks, clanks or tinkles yet.

To and from CanJam:

I hate being right at the end of the local UPS route.

The headband is actually vastly improved over the HF-1 already. It's proper stitched leather and a lot more rigid, so it does a lot better job distributing the weight.

Well, they sure sound good. I'm fully adjusted and ready to join the fan club! They're particularly pleasant with smaller-scale guitar/male vocal recordings like, say, my own personal trinity of Cave, Cohen and Knopfler.

That's why HeadRoom > Lotsadiscountheadphones.com. Tyll, it looks like Eric from Senn is already fielding whinges about this in the "appreciation" thread on Head-Fi.

Not really good enough, at this price point. On the bright side, my old 600s originally had an annoying squeak at the fore/aft adjustment point of the ear cups and it just seemed to sort itself out after a few days sitting on my grape. Never heard it again.

Have we had this nixie clock here yet? Mahogany and black walnut. Mmmm. $275 here.

I'd just like to thank y'all for saving some for the little people. And Dan for giving me a glass. I had a wee nip from it the other night, and it clearly tasted better than from an unmodded Glencairn.

I seem to recall Nate saying, after reterminating several of them at CanJam, that it appeared to be entirely adequate in both materials and construction and that he would not personally bother to change it out.

Lots of Led Zeppelin and a little squashing down of bowls have pretty much reconciled me with my HF-2s. Still can't deal with them with flats. Bass lines just seem to flop about all over the place.
