Pandora's Star started great but lost me towards the end. I might give it another shot now that the sequel is out. Have you tried Saga of the Seven Suns by Kevin Anderson? Pretty hefty. I am enjoying it.

After a bit of trial and error I got my new Dell Mini 9 up and running with Windows 7. I am now proficient with the program VLite. I installed FOOBAR, dbPoweramp, uTorrent, Zune, Firefox, and mp3Tag and I still have 3GB free on the 8GB SSD (32GB SDHC coming). Upgraded the RAM to 2GB as well. Nice little unit, I am liking it. Runs W7 very well, aero and all. Also finally got the rest of my new travertine tile floors sealed. Next weekend I can put the baseboard back on. The animals are all locked outside so they won't track sealer onto the new carpet. They don't understand what's going on, they usually have free access in and out through the cat door and this is the first time it has been locked.

Got up early and finished installing OSX on my desktop (Dell Dimension). Installed fine but ran into trouble getting it to boot around the Windows Boot Manager. Added it to my boot menu but I have to point it to the right drive/partition when I get home from work. I have not touched a Mac since college about 15 years ago. Back in the days of Windows 3.1. Looking forward to checking it out.

Good looking stuff. Laminate has come a long way over the last couple of years. Very inexpensive, do-it-yourself friendly, durable, and no longer just looks like plastic pretending to be wood. That stuff is gonna look good with the black granite.

Many vendors have larger (18x26 for example) granite tiles for not much more per square foot than the 12x12's. Less joints, obviously. One of my vendors has it in both Galaxy Black and Absolute Black. What are you putting on the floor?
