Last I heard he was in the early testing phase. Did things get worked out and are these now available in the GS-X?

I really can't say any more....just do the link. ROTFL.... http://www.decaturdaily.com/decaturdaily/news/061003/game.shtml

Thanks Reks. Actually, in my business, I use some rubber stops that when cut in half fit perfectly. Found another seller.....gawd yes on ebay so we'll try one more time. Yeah, I'm a glutton for punishment but darned if none of the cell phone stores that I've tried have an adapter. When I ask for a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter, they look at me like I'm from mars or something and then try to sell me the cheap buds from the accessory rack. Ah well, it's just for picking up games while I'm on the road so it's not that critical.
-
Thanks Nate. I'll give it a look. As for the ebay thing, it's only $5 but on principle it pissed me off since I know the jerk is overcharging bigtime on the shipping. Heck, even an "I'm sorry the item was lost" or some such excuse would have been preferable to a total ignoring of my emails. Ain't no biggie. I've picked up a RadioShack adapter which is stereo but it only works in mono with my device unless I back it out of the 2.5mm receptacle a bit. It will work until I can locate a replacement.
-
Yep. Tried ebay. Didn't work out so hot. Seller has yet to respond to my questions about whether he's shipped my adapter yet. Felt somewhat stupid paying $4 for shipping a .99 item. I know it doesn't cost that much to ship. 50 cents maybe but $4?? Come on. Even if I get resolution through ebay/paypal, it's only going to net me $1 as the S/H isn't refundable with my seller. I'm not the first according to his feedback but I figured for $5 it was worth a shot. There are some real scumbags on ebay and I guess I found one of them.

This site is a great first step but I'm not sure what, if anything else, can be done. It's his site and he's surrounded himself with people that toe the headfi line. They still get a great deal of traffic and that means the sponsors won't be jumping ship anytime soon. Short of him doing something stupid and illegal, I don't see things changing anytime soon. Seems like for every person that gets wise and they ban, there's 3 more who haven't a clue about the true nature of that site. Hell, look how long it took me to wake up. I'd like to think I'm not a total moron, but I just didn't see things the way they really were for some time.

Amazing. No surprise though. Now that I think about it...not so amazing. Just disappointing/sad. Jude has really gotten off course.

Never did like the guy but if this turns out to be true, you almost have to feel sorry for the guy. Several media outlets reported him having "an alergic reaction" to the pain medication he'd been taking. Why it took almost a week for that to occur is a bit suspect in and of itself. Now media reports are breaking that T.O. tried to commit suicide. Fox News was first IIRC and now the others are also breaking this. Sad.

LOL...you guys kill me!! I'd sent GE a couple of PM's about doing some balanced IC's for me but he never responded. Guess he was too busy. Headroom and Moon are definitely worth a look see though. Now to just get past the paranoia of actually doing it to those cans.
-
A Absolutely but something keeps nagging at me not to do it. Suggestions on who to use for the job?
-
Well, the Senns have already gotten a new cable so my 650's are ready to go. Guess I can save some $$ and time with the 701 and 600 after all. The biggest decision and one that I've struggled with for several weeks now is about balancing the PS1. I'd love to hear them balanced but I hate the thought of messing with an out of production headphone like that. One day I'm ready to do it and then I get cold feet. Plus, I'm still torn over who to use for the recable. So, outside of the 650s, which cans respond most favorably to balancing? Not to thread crap but....
-
Actually, I've also been toying with the idea of reacquiring the 701's. Torn between these and the HD600. Can't really pin down which responds to balancing best. Then there's the little decision about who'd be doing the recable.

LOL...nice pic there Reks! Of course, my uncle, half-cousin, step-father won't like that you've used his pic without his permission and us'n Tennessee folk can sure hold a grudge. You know much about feudin'??

Personally, I'm a dog man myself. I just get the willies seeing that kitten near electronic gear. My don't they like the foam and pads on headphones though.

My condolences. I have to admit to being less than thrilled at allowing myself to get attached to pets for just this reason. When I was a young boy, I had a German shep that I dearly loved. He began having problems....just not wanting to get up and play much anymore. When he did, you could tell he struggled a great deal. Well, one day I came home from school and my parents told me that my best friend had run off. I was heart broken. I began begging my father to take me through the streets looking for him. I was determined to have my buddy home with me again. My folks wouldn't hear of it. Waste of time. He was gone. I couldn't contain my grief. After a few days of seeing me in this state, my folks confessed that he wasn't really lost but terribly ill. It seems he had a calcium deficiency in his hips and it was beginning to degenerate. When I saw him at my grandparents home, he was thrilled to see me and I him. Yet, when he got up to come toward me, he simply began dragging his hind quarters. Of course, this was such a painful thing to see. Such a beautiful animal in such a condition. After explaining things to me, my folks gave me my first "big boy" decision. Out of love for my friend, I, too, consented to allowing them to put him down. Most painful thing I've ever done. I was 9 at the time. I'm now 48 and have recently fallen for a dog that my wife simply had to have. He's not such a "manly" type dog but he's simply gotten deep in the heart. Needless to say I didn't see it coming but now that I'm feeling that way for a pet once again, I can surely feel your pain and loss. I'd actually forgotten just how important pets can be to folks. Sorry for the long-winded reply.

Slow? His mother, Shirley, stated in that article that he could not read. Maybe I'm interpreting that incorrectly but I'm making a distinction between "can't" and "slow". I know it's the way things work these days and yes, he may end up in the NFL with a great career and millions of dollars that he otherwise wouldn't have had a shot at but it still rubs me entirely the wrong way. Maybe I'm being a bit holier-than-thou over this but this is just plain wrong. It's just not fair to the kids who are legit in their academic endeavors and achievements. Ah well, no skin off my nose. I'm not a Ole Miss grad. In any event, it should be fun to watch this one play out. I have a feeling that this challenge will be quite a frustration for the ncaa clearinghouse. I can only imagine the floodgates bursting open if this goes to court and he wins.

In my other post, I thought I'd seen something that would define the ridiculous but now I'm not so sure it can stand up to this: So tell me...just how did a kid who CAN'T READ score a 22 on READING COMPREHENSION? I don't know what's more ridiculous....the thought of a kid who can't read trying to make it in college or that his family thinks they could possibly win a case in court. On what grounds? How could a judge allow that? How could that decision be defended legally and morally? I know it's all about $$ but what happened to the integrity of a college degree? If I'm an Ole Miss grad, I'm raising he!! over this one. Just plain crazy IMO.

By highly sophisticated and somewhat unpleasant methods I'm sure! Sheese! Talk about having more money and time than one should!

is absolutely THE most ridiculous thing I've ever...EVER seen!

I'd like to see the quick reply have all the functions currently available in the regular reply. Not a big deal to simply hit preview and do what one needs to do but it would be a bit more convenient I guess.

Steve Irwin, the hugely popular Australian television personality and environmentalist known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed Monday by a stingray during a diving expedition, Australian media said. He was 44. The guy was over the top but man, I enjoyed his enthusiasm! http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060904/ap_on_en_tv/obit_irwin

As the title says, I'm needing a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter so I can get rid of the cheap/awful buds that came with my cell phone and use some decent IEM's. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble finding these. Radio Shack(mine anyway) and the cell phone companies in my area don't have any. I ordered an expensive one ($20) from Pocket PC Techs only to find that it was defective upon arrival so back it went. I see lots of adapters in mono but I'm not finding a lot of options for stereo. Anyone have one that they're happy with? Where did you find it? Any help would be appreciated.

Agree on B&H. Just never an issue when I deal with them. Can't say the same for folks like Amazon, Buy.com and J&R. Btw, did they finally get the fragile tubes on the ety's corrected? Loved mine but man, when the tubes cracked after I'd taken such good care of them, I wrote 'em off and sold them.
