Yeah...just came from the TDSL/Duncan site. First thing I saw was the 150V. Still, I'm pretty darned happy with this amp. Not much I could want to change about this one.
-
In a Supra? Do tell! I haven't looked this tube up yet but now my curiosity is aroused!
-
I just keep telling myself "I don't need this amp....I don't need this amp......." :(
-
Based on my limited experience...the transport beats the HD.
-
When is this due? I'm very curious about this "extreme" PPX3. Not that I need another amp but.....

Eventually, that might be the way to go but for now, I'm really not up for having a PC as the center of my home theater system Got any models in mind? This was my first choice even though I can't edit out some parts of the video I don't really want like commercials. Probably the most simple solution I guess. Isn't DirecTV going to end their relationship with TIVO next year? I thought I read something about DTV offering their own hardware to customers and no longer selling the TIVO models. Might be wrong on this I guess.

Being a bit of a sports junkie and football fan, I find myself recording games that I feel/hope will be special. Keeping them as part of a sports library has been a bit of a hobby of mine. It was a snap with VCR(yeah, that's way old school) but it's become very difficult with the DirecTV/TIVO situation. For the games now, I have to record the content on to my digital camcorder and then use my computer to burn the DVD. A royal pain IMO. So, I'm interested in a DVR but know little about them. What should I look for in features/specs? Is there anything that's a "must have" for getting the best results for what I want to do with it as outlined above? Specific models I should look at? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Eeewww....an you touched my 701's?? Hope you wipe 'em down and disinfect before you ship 'em back to me.
-
McBob....are you wanting a balanced amp? I'm confused. MPX3 SLAM SE vs. Supra vs. Supra XLR? Personally, I'd save yourself the time and money by going straight to the Supra XLR but that's just me.

Playing favs?? Where's the xmas spirit? Even though I've got a supra xlr, it would be interesting to see how they compare.

Wow. Wish I could score a deal like that! Nice pickup!!

My "work around" was to buy a MacBook Pro that should be here in a week or so. Drastic? Yeah but I'm tired of the windows crap. Just had enough. I'm googling my brains out and have come up with solutions/replacements for the software that I'll be giving up. My one and only issue is my office network runs a software program that's windows based and I use my current laptop in that office network. Wine is my only hope but if I have to buy a cheap desktop for work, so be it. I'm going to cut the windows cord as completely as I can. -
Not my listing although I'd love to own her. At $7500, it's a bit pricey for my wallet but man, I do love the way she looks! http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?ampstube&1168892897

Nice! I've got the 6414 leading the 6bl7's right now. Great combo. He'd sent me a set of the 6414's to try and I was busy with all the other tubes on hand so they just sat there. Recently, I was looking through my tube case and saw those sitting there and it reminded me that I hadn't tried them yet. Popped them in and began to kick myself for not trying them sooner!! You'll love 'em!

Very nice! Always a treat to get new gear especially of that caliber!

There's always PM and email for inquiring minds.

I sent 'em to KG. He had them on his server in this thread.... http://www.head-case.org/index.php?topic=660.msg15083#msg15083 Check post 67. "Minor" damage my backside. The wife almost had my head when she saw that. Guess it is relatively "minor" to some but she was none too happy about something as "stupid" as a headphone amp damaging furniture.

Billy... Grease stain from the rubber feet? Wonder why none of my other components left marks? I've had several amps and CD players on that same night stand for even longer periods of time than the Raptor with no ill effects. You may be correct in your assessment, but if other components with rubber feet/pads can be placed there with no ill effects, it stands to reason the component Ray is using is not of similar quality. Bottom line...Ray is responsible for the materials and components used in construction and performance of the equipment he produces and sells. If he'd taken that approach with me, I wouldn't have had such a bad experience with the man. Even so, I certainly don't "hate" the man. Don't respect him...don't like him but "hate"? Nah.
-
Guess the rubber feet he used couldn't handle the heat the Raptor generated? Sure would be nice if Ray could have spent a bit more time checking little details like that out. Btw, do they make asbestos feet for high temp components? If the component had a design flaw or defective components like the rubber feet, Ray is still responsible for the damage that occurs. It's ridiculous to think people will only sit components on glass shelves. Many will use a desk or rack with wood or laminated shelving. I've yet to receive any sort of concern, apology or offer to compensate me for the repairs/refinishing that I had to do on the furniture from Ray. Complete silence as a matter of fact. Great service if I do say so! Btw, "I seen that also"?? Try staying awake during English class Billy boy.
-
No doubt about that. If the rumors are true, there's no chance in hades that he'll confirm that here.....or anywhere else for that matter.
-
Actually, a more precise question....has Ray settled with any customers to avoid litigation as a result of his products and/or their performance.
-
LOL...yeah, I figured it out. I figured you were going to continue to dance around the answer so there's little point in continuing to ask. I don't know if there's any truth to the rumor, in whole or in part, so that's why I asked. You seemed certain in your responses so I'm assuming you have knowlege of the facts and aren't speculating. Just figured you'd be inclined to elaborate and clear the air, but apparently I was mistaken in that assumption. So, yes, I figured it out.
-
I think I got it. Thanks.

I'm simply referring back to the comment you made in which you stated: If you'll note, there's a conjunction in that sentence. To clarify...to which part of the statement about the house fire and lawsuit do you refer when you said "that statement is untrue"? Do you refer to one or both?
-
Now that I know to be a fact. Pennsylvania House nightstand as a matter of fact(thought it was just Lexington but an angry/significant other set me straight on that one!) Also, I know it damaged the case work on a CD player but heck, that's old news.
