Yep...quite a tribute. Those Buckeye fans are a passionate bunch to be sure. Hey, I'm a suffering UT fan so I was certainly pullin' for the Buckeyes. Now I gotta suffer through an entire year of gator smack talk. Gators and dawgs.....dawgs and gators. Gonna be a long, painful year. Don't think I'll take it this badly though......

On first listen, the GS1K was impressive but that spike does become a bit of an issue after an hour or so. Also and I know this will sound nuts, the GS1K had a strange presentation to my ear. Almost like a reverb. Okay, I know that's nuts but I can't think of another word for it. Just couldn't do extended listening with those cans. Very comfortable thought. Curious flyz......have you tried the 701? Personally, I like it better than the 600.

Ditto that. Just picked up a second one. Prices have dropped and it's really a no-brainer IMO.

I'm in a bit of an all round holding pattern. Until there's more content for HDTV, I'll wait on getting my set upgraded and until I make that jump, there's little reason to go with either HD format at the moment. I will admit to a longing to upgrade the entire home theater but I'm just not seeing a good reason to pull the trigger right now.

My point was does Total HD offer any real solution? So what if it can hold Blu-Ray on one side and HD DVD on the other. These to warring camps can't agree on much of anything. Doubt they'd be able to agree on content rights either. Given the major players in each camp it appears the average John Doe consumer will continue waiting for them to throw us a bone and come up with a universal standard.

Gawd...you have one of those, too? My wife is absolutely nuts about handbags. Prada, LV, etc....it's all I hear. I think she's up to 15 or so. Practically lives on ebay and is endlessly complaining about all the fakes out there. WTH can a woman possibly do with 15 freaking purses?? Needless to say I've got no worries with what I spend on headphone/stereo gear when a silly piece of leather that looks like a kindergarten kid designed it costs that much smack!! Good grief!!

Now that I could use. Comfort does look like a concern, but I suppose it depends on the weight and balance of those IEM's. Then there's the worry I'll always have about the Ety quality control. Still can't shake those cracked tubes and the BS they gave me when I quizzed them on it. Yet, for some reason, I think I want to try these.

I'm patiently waiting on my daughter to head off to college so I can steal her room. I can visualize a rig very similar to that along with my headphone gear in a "private space" just for dear old dad. Til then I'm quite certain I'd not get the WAF on something like that. I'm envious. Beauty of a setup. I also love that finish on the speakers. Just a wonderful look.

Thanks Ben. I finally gave up and simply use my ZVM with my office desktop. When this player finally craps out on me, I'll probably join my kids with an ipod. Both have 'em and for convenience, I guess that will be my next step away from Windows. So far, I'm well on my way to being windows free. Very sweet indeed.

I've got one more possibility. I've found that I can reflash with the TIVO software which will leave the drive unlocked. If that doesn't succeed, I guess that's it.

No dice. It's not able to overcome the lock or the drive is bad. Right now, it looks like I'm toast with this drive.

I've recently harvested a 40GB HD from an old Ultimate TV device and would like to use it with my pc. Problem is that it's locked. I'd seen some threads about using mhd3.exe to unlock and erase it which would then allow me to reformat and reuse it. Unfortunately, I'm having no success unlocking it. Does anyone here have an idea? Not trying to hack the drive so preserving the data isn't an issue. I'm really looking to just wipe it clean and start fresh. Suggestions appreciated.

Have you tried posting on their support forum? I've seen a response to inquiries there a couple of times.

Alex...FWIW, my post on the subject was totally tongue-in-cheek as I'd hoped the ;) would indicate. Hope that's the way you took it. Congrats on the amp. As for the long delays, I can certainly understand the frustration. Sheese, I go PO'd after a 2 month wait. I'd have gone postal with a delay of the magnitude that you experienced. You must have the patience of Job. That's a trait that I could stand to develop a bit more thoroughly I suppose. Enjoy her. I'm sure it's a beauty.

Sometimes I hate this hobby. My Supra XLR still has than new amp smell but darned if reading this thread doesn't have me wanting an extreme! That 6080 sounds like a tremendous tube. Again....I'm jealous!!

Decided not to do parallels or any other similar program to get windows programs working on the mac. If I can't find a suitable Mac replacement, I'll do without. I've got a PC at home that I can use to manage the ZVM as needed. If you're referring to the links from Sloth, I decided against it after reading the thread he linked. Didn't sound accurate or reliable. So the search continues I guess.

Hey, let 'em keep it up. Just helps grow this board. Of course, there's room for both but I'm fairly sure Jude doesn't see it that way.

As luck would have it, I'm also enjoying my "new" 701's. They've just gone balanced and are going nicely with the Supra XLR. Definitely a nice response! I can see these giving my 650's a serious run for playing time.

Guess I should clarify....Parallels would likely work but I don't want any MS software on my machine. I'm gonna cut the cord....at least on my laptop that is.

I've just gotten a new MacBook Pro and I knew Creative didn't support the Mac platform. I still use my PC to work the ZVM but figured there might be a way to make it work. Unfortunately, Google has turned up nothing. Anyone here got suggestions? Yeah....buy an ipod comes to mind.
