Has anyone heard this amp with AKG K701's? Does the amp have enough output to drive them to decent listening levels? Looks well built. How does it sound?

I haven't heard the Mark III but the older versions couldn't drive low impedance phones well at all. Also knowing ASL's terrible quality control history I'd be hesitant to buy anything from them.

I agree with tkam. Too risky when there are other solid options out there.

Unless one is aware of a unit's history and one knows that it's fine. (Such as the one that used to be Hirsch's -- I'd buy that one if I was in the market and it was for sale. Known good.)
