  • Another electrostat CFA lives. This one born on the 4th of July? The PCB is congo5's layout. The amps is powered by my GRHV PSU with ~405VDC rails.  Many thanks to Kevin for another wonderfu

  • Finally cased my ES CFA amp.  Returned the bias resistors to 1M with the larger heatsinks. Running 20mA bias for the output sections.

build it, put it in a super fancy box, and sell it for $37k betcha it sounds better than the high priced spread, at least no stupidly expensive and useless input transformers. its a push pul

Using 282VA trafo (with [email protected] secondaries) divided by 230V line voltage * 133% gives me 1.63A for the fuse.

As it is pretty much oversized, should opt for 1.5A or 2A fuse and should I combine it with a 1.6A (CL-130) or 1.7A (CL-120) termistor for inrush current protection, what is your take on this?

Edited by starcat

I always use a thermistor for inrush current protection with my PSUs.

If you use a thermistor I would try a 1A or even smaller fuse. You may have to experiment a bit based on the thermistor, filter caps of choice.

Thanks! I have used 4x 550V 680uF caps within a GRHV.

Moving forward with the CFAE, drilled the bottom and completely mounted the toroid and GRHV. The C2M1000170D's are still missing. Probably I should replace them with the C3M0350120D. New front and back panels next.

I don't know if I'm looking wrong but I can't find a schematic for cfaelectrostatic, besides, there are no gerberas for this project either. Are they available somewhere?

in the boards share there is cfaelectrostat.zip and electrostat2.zip

there are other surface mount versions that have not been posted

next time don't post twice, and you can always ask me
