July 2, 200719 yr comment_36117 Hey Kevin: how is this amp progressing? Last I read you had build a proto and seemed happy with it. Was that last board layout tested? I'd like to give a hand testing if needed. Report
July 2, 200719 yr comment_36120 prototype works absolutely fantastic. Latest board layout at headwize.com in the thread. I have not had the time to verify that final layout completely yet. Sure would help if someone with much younger eyeballs would look at it and make sure it is correct before i spend $500 on boards. Report
July 2, 200719 yr comment_36121 Kevin, What are your impressions of the Dynafet vs. the Dynahi, sound wise? Report
July 2, 200719 yr Author comment_36123 I'll start checking the layout for you Kevin. My eyes are still pretty good Report
July 2, 200719 yr comment_36164 The dynafet has that slightly sweet almost tube like sound that only fet outputs can have. But because of the drive circuit it has the balls of no other fet output amp i have listened to. If you want to buy one, you will have to find someone willing to build you one. And as usual there is a whole bunch of different ways to build this thing. Report
July 2, 200719 yr comment_36169 If you want to buy one, you will have to find someone willing to build you one. Done! Now bring me a shrubbery! Report
July 4, 200719 yr comment_36313 Sure would help if someone with much younger eyeballs would look at it and make sure it is correct before i spend $500 on boards. looks good to me.... and since we moved Imageering allowed me to make a new account and they said I will get a second order rebate. How many prototypes you wanna order? (i punched in a quote for ten boards and the price was only $17 each but I guessed at the board dimensions so.....) Report
July 4, 200719 yr comment_36324 Board is 4.95 x 5.40 inches, 302 holes. I'll take 5 boards please... Report
July 4, 200719 yr Author comment_36325 It looked good to me as well. Mind if I hop in for a few boards? Report
July 4, 200719 yr comment_36332 I'd be interested in 4 boards as well if this is turning into a group buy Report
July 5, 200719 yr Author comment_36455 http://headwize.com/ubb/showpost.php?fnum=3&tid=6584&pid=59001&fpage=4 According to that link: 50 plus PSU, Case, board, and all casing extras (pot, switches, RCA, 1/4"), plus heatsink Report
July 6, 200719 yr comment_36482 that is the seriously shrunk down version. The real thing costs a lot more. I would be happy to tell you the real cost, but as usual i don't have the faintest idea Report
July 12, 200719 yr comment_37041 that board looks so easy from the pic..its like a drop and play deal.. damn me! for no reason.. i want to hear one really.. Report
July 12, 200719 yr comment_37053 that board looks so easy from the pic..its like a drop and play deal.. Piece of cake, if you can handle soldering a bunch of SMDs. Most people can't solder SMDs, especially not the fun stuff like smaller chips and transistors. Report
July 12, 200719 yr Author comment_37101 Yeah, you definitely want the through hole variety boards... I'll take any variety boards! Report
August 9, 200719 yr comment_41730 Ooops, seems someone totaly forgot about this. $15 each if "we" order 25 of them. Report
August 10, 200719 yr comment_41953 well, I would get four for a balanced rig..... only 21 to go, come on guys! Report
August 10, 200719 yr comment_41962 Have a reliable source for the 2SJ109 & 2SK389 s? Cause that appears to be a major stumbling block... (I have not been able to get a hold of Dan to see if has enough inventory) Report
