postjack
Hopefully this belongs in the speaker forum. Finally arrived after a long ordeal with Fedex: It looks great with the rest of the family: Ah, all that black and blue looks snazzy! Silver dynahi sticks out like a sore thumb. No listening impressions, because of course I have no speaker wire. :'( Still, it is a substantial unit, quite heavy. It definitely turns on, which is a plus. The volume control makes a fun clicking noise. So in other words its already worth the asking price, sound be damned.
Salt Peanuts
Congrats on your new toy! I was going to mention about the silver Dynahi, but you did that yourself.
hungrych
That looks way nicer than I would have expected. Enough inputs?

The funny thing is once I get it all together I'll only be using one input, XLR's running from the loop out on the beta22.

postjack
dew eet. I just did, it sounds ok. \ little thin with the MS2i, but I've been on a bit of a bass kick lately. I'll give it a more critical listen some other time.

By Raw's law of burn-in that means that at 4000hrs it will really start to open up and at 8000hrs it'll be the bestest evar!!!1!!

milkpowder
Maybe they want to go get some mid-fi action considering the numerous accolades the new Azur range is receiving.

Both the preamp and power amp were on their catalogue for this year, but they weren't released until recently. The retail for preamp and power amp is $1599 and $2399, respectively. Sounds good to me. I love my 840A and 840C. Simple, inexpensive, great sounding products.

There is a little info in the "Industry News" section of the new TAS Says the preamp, the 840e will run $1599.00 and the (200 wpc) amplifier 840W $2399.00. milkpowder
Interesting. I hope they redesign the damned interface. Their current ones look pretty tacky IMO. EDIT: Was just looking through the catalogue. Seems like they decided to keep the interface Oh well... Four bridged 840W in bi-amp configuration takes the price firmly into the deep end of the mid-fi segment.
milkpowder
840E press release: Sophisticated resistor ladder and relay based attenuator for volume/balance control Does that mean stepped attenuator? (couldn't edit my last post)
