I have to save my pennies for a Stax SRD-7 Mk 2 if one ever shows up.

I doubt many have heard the Yamato, but I will say that these are every bit as hard to drive as the K340.

I've heard and liked the Yammy with a few different headphones. It did not do well with the K340s at all. I don't remember specifics as it was over a year ago, but there were a few of us at aglie_one's (john, matt, mikeg and me) that pretty much all agreed, dismissed it, and quickly moved on.

Jay's are YH-1 drivers, mine are YH-100 drivers. I prefer the YH-100 driver for it's added bass responce, however Jay compared the two heads up in NY, and I think he didn't hear much of a difference if I remember right.

Not sure about that, I'd have to look back in the thread. I don't think I could get a proper fit with your pair, so that could have skewed things.
