Thanks, yes, I was waiting for one to go on sale again to buy one.

Just wanted to add that this is the non-esata model. Sill works fine, just not as fast. Transfering from BlacX to computer (or reverse) is fairly quick, but transferring from BlacX to another BlacX is not as fast, and thats where I notice it.

So what's the eSata version, the ST0005U?

aardvark, one of the Newegg reviews mention that the power cord could be longer...do you know how long the cord is by any chance?

Yeah, not that long; looks like maybe 4 feet or so?

I have the USB only version at home, I can check the length of that one when I get back fromz work. It is quite short though, in comparison to all my other external hdd cases.

wow this is actually pretty neat. This is the first external "docking" hdd enclosure i've ever seen.

How does it cool the drive?

It doesnt. But air works fairly well. Lots of external cases dont have fans, and use the enclosure to cool the drive. I have a LaCie that does that, and gets very, very warm to the touch. But my WD drives in the BlacX are barely warm to the touch; almost room temperature.
