February 14, 200917 yr Found some positive reviews of Emotiva bang-for-buck, but they've been a bit short on details. Anyone here have experience with the RPA2, XPA2 or any other Emotiva offerings? Not sure what speakers I'll finally mate with these, but at least initially it was be some CSW M80s. Likely use the Extreme Platinum as a preamp. Any guidance much appreciated. February 14, 200917 yr Don't know about the circuitry in the smaller units, but the monster monoblocks are a direct copy of the krell monoblocks less the regulated output transistors power supply. They really sound good, and the bang for the buck is silly. Built very well, and made in china.
February 14, 200917 yr Wow... those are very pretty and well priced. I don't need monoblox though thankfully... If I got some magnepans though... damn but my room can't support those.
March 2, 200917 yr Author Well, after a couple phone calls and questions on two other boards I ordered the RPA-2 this morning. I'll let you know how it goes. If it goes well I may pick up an UMC-1 when it is released too.
March 2, 200917 yr I have a RSP/RPA combo and love them with my Onix Ref 3's. Very detailed with plenty of dynamics.
March 2, 200917 yr Author Good to hear. Dynamics was one of the issues I was wondering of choosing the RPA over the XPA. That's nearly all I've heard about the XPA
March 3, 200917 yr Anyone have any feedback on the RSP-2 stereo preamplifier? That looks like a sweet unit, and the proper bass management it has is something sorely lacking in other analog preamps.
March 4, 200917 yr one of my best friends has the XPA2 and XPA5 they were ok home theater amps as they provided a lot of bass but were seemingly muddy and the midrange suffered because of it. I am curious about the XPA1 though and am on the list for the XMC1 when they finally ship it
