  2. Dusty There's plenty of good food to go round. Tripadvisor seems to have more traction than yelp. Local knowledge helps, so just ask the locals Meanwhile ... Received a good recommendation for pub lunch that did not disappoint. (17th Century) Pub Lunch (Lamb and coriander burger with thrice-cooked chips) Rare Roast beef and horseradish sandwich. And then later, there was afternoon tea Suitably yellow clotted cream, on ginger and bacon scone (with a follow on fruit scone) mmmmmmmm.

  3. Went with that first board. It has a little bit of everything that good myrtle seems to offer - some flame, some curl and figure, and some striping. The finish will be a pore fill oil, which should really bring out the natural color and figure. Went with a Koa binding, and an abalone rosette with abalone fret markers. I went with a pair of luthiers from Oregon called covered bridge. Originally wanted mya-moe but the wait time is minimum 2 years. This should be maximum 12 weeks and getting heck of a value at $725 for a custom handcrafted uke using local Pacific Northwest wood.

  6. Did you read the review? I don't like the 812 and think the HD800, despite its troublesome nature, is one of the world's bed headphones.

  7. Getting pencils jabbed in your ears sounds better than the more expensive ultrasone signature pro, also. Any other points of reference?

  8. Used the seat heater in my Smart. Up-northers would scoff, but it was chilly. And i forgot my jacket. It's supposed to warm up again tomorrow.

  9. Apparently they have nearly opposite sound sigs. The MDR-Z7 has a mids suck-out with plenty bass whereas the CD3000 is just bright...

  13. Lots of awesomeness in this thread ... Baguette's great speaker rig ... Shelly's BHSE, and the swell advice on shelf clearance ... Grahame and Jo's trip to the Auld Sod, and hookup with the tall man ... Chris @ midwest Lagunitas heaven (jealous) ... The reappearance of Fitz (not unlike my own) ... But the winner is definitely (drum roll, please) Tyler, Ann Marie, and little Kora ... May the family be reunited soon, Tyler. Happy trails.
