Sad face indeed.

Spending a few days with family in the cabin in the mountains in So Cal. Right now hubby and I are fishing at the lake. It is nice to get a little R&R.

I think the 30 will barely fit a 13" but definitely not a 15". A laptop/camera Retrospective would be awesome. Although I am not sure that I would want to carry a laptop and DSLR in a shoulder bag.

That 27" is sweet!

Leaving Las Vegas and I am not sad, not one bit. I would take SF over LV (or most places) anyday!

Got a horrible night sleep last night becaued it kept getting really hot in my room last night... even with the temp set at 72. Realized this morning that it is motion activated so it shuts off when you go to sleep if set an auto.

Well, I definitely won't be doing any gambling... just not my thing.

Flew to Vegas for a weekend math conference. I haven't been to Vegas since I was 15 (~20 years ago) - things have really changed since then.

Good choice. This has become my standard "working" drink (when I want something that has a nice flavor but isn't too strong). That looks good. Me: Had a couple of margaritas with dinner. They were pretty good. Also, I guess I haven't been drinking very much lately because I have quite a buzz.

*Anvil* Decided I needed to take a break and make myself a real cocktail tonight. Zombie 1/2 oz passion fruit syrup 1/2 oz pineapple juice 1/2 oz lemon juice 1/2 oz lime juice 1/2 oz agave syrup 1/2 oz Dos Maderas 5+3 rum 1/2 oz Wrey & Nephew rum 1/2 oz Ron Zacapa rum 1 dash angostura This drink is fantastic! Maybe next time I will try it with both W&N and Smith & Cross.

Well, I suppose it is about time to sanitize the tank and get a new RO membrane since we have had the system for 4 years. I am not sure I trust the Sam's club RO system to kill whatever type of bacteria might have leaked into the water (guess we'll know more about the water when the tests come back tomorrow). I am really pretty tired of the month of April... it has been one thing after another. So burn down the house it is.

Glad Ollie is doing well! We got a call this morning that there was a major water main break in the area and so now we have boil all the water until further notice (the tests are not complete yet). What a pain. Anyone know what to do with a RO water filtration system if contaminated water is introduced into the system? Bleach?

Shared a bottle of Brewdog/Mikkeller Divine Rebel earlier today. It was interesting but I don't think I would want to drink more than a couple of ounces myself. Ok, so I didn't really like it, I guess that is what I am trying to say. Never got a chance to toast Jim last night so I doing it now with some Parker 27yr. Congrats Jim! I do like the Parker.

Just read about tenure Jim, that is great! I wish I had a nice drink to toast you with but I poured out the FB and made myself an Aperol + soda. Will break out the Parker 27 after I finish writing this lecture (although classes finished last Friday, I stupidly volunteered to make up a graduate class I missed when I was away at a conference ).
