  1. One question: is this the end of the Stat measurement project? I was hoping other stat cans would make it to Tyll. There's still plenty of time left, after all. Anyone else confirmed that other cans will be sent?
  2. Tyll, incredible work! That's probably the 1st review of that caliber ever. Talk about bringing out the artillery.... geez!
  3. That's correct. I didn't spring the additional grand for the Alps RK50. ($4995 for the BHSE). Also, a bit off-topic: not what most audiophiles would listen to, but I didn't develop the full respect I have now for electrostatics until I heard metal (and related sub-genres) through the OII's. It's all about speed.
  4. btw, I still love the look of the Omega best of all. Even more than that of the 009.
  5. Since I have no stat amp at home right now I cannot do anything with the 009 that I bought (which will ship to Tyll once Andy gets it). Wouldn't this be a good opportunity to do the below? 1) Test another 009 and see how much (if any) deviation there is from the 1st 009 he tested. 2) Test "burn-in" as it applies to the 009 (if any) In regards to burn-in (or break-in), though, I suppose that this would mean that -in order to maintain as much control of the experiment as possible- the headphones shouldn't be moved from their place once the "sweet spot" on the dummy head has been found. But this isn't feasible, I'd say, because other headphones are constantly being measured to keep the website flowing... I don't know... but I'm just throwing suggestions out there since we might not get another opportunity like this any time soon.
  6. A bit off-topic, but is that a commercial headphone stand available somewhere? or is it a custom product... I like it a lot!
  7. Thanks Tyll! As for the 009s, there should be two versions out there now, I guess. The first that came out, and then the ones with the "fixed issues". I forget why but Stax worked on something that delayed production and then began to crank them out again. Obviously, the pair you'll be getting from me later on is from the last batch.
  8. Tyll, there's no need for that (at least, not of which I am aware). I passed my spot in line to Justin. You'll get my 009's when Andy gets the next batch of cans. This works out best for everyone as there's no need to rush anything that way. The only favor I would ask of you is to state the serial number of the 007 I sent to you and post it here so that Spritzer can evaluate on what version it is. Thanks dude!
  9. Wow, I've missed out on a lot of b-days! Happy b-day, good sir!
  10. I have tentative plans for a trip ending on that weekend, so I am unsure if I will be able to make it. I haven't booked my flight for that other trip since I haven't coordinated with my family on when exactly we will be doing this.
  11. Netbook has worked fine for me as a source when I go to meets. No one has complained, either. Whether iPad is better, cannot say.
  12. Maybe mine are 007A after all... came in that box anyway. Never heard another version to tell the difference.
  13. Mine might be 007A and not MKI. Frankly, I don't know. I thought MKI meant champagne housing and brown leather, and mine matches that description, but the case I got them in (used) says 007A. Maybe someone can clear that up when Tyll posts pics of all the gear... ...which he better do!
  14. Horio, you can send your pair later. I sent my O2 MKI to Tyll and it made it there yesterday along with the BHSE (though the BHSE wasn't left at the door and needs to go get picked up). This project will be epic! Again, as for your cans, enjoy them for a bit. Too many cans and some will be sitting idle. I'm sure Tyll will let you know when he's ready for more measurements. Yours is MKII, no?
  15. I wouldn't think he needs one for more than a week, tops, to get all his measurements (I'm just guessing here). If he measures the 009 first, he should be able to get it outta the way quick enough for ya. Frankly, if so many people are going to be listening to the pair before me, I rather pass it on. One person I wouldn't mind, but damn, I don't want the town bicycle either! =/
  16. Did I just say the same thing twice but in different sentence structure? (facepalm) I really must be losing it... Alternatively, I could just give up my spot and let Justin have it, but then Tyll would be left without my pair to measure. Unless, of course, Justin lets him measure it and keeps it as his own. You guys let me know what you want to do. I don't have an amp to enjoy them for now anyway, so it's a moot point for me.
  17. Justin, talk to Tyll to arrange it. I don't mind as long as someone is always watching after them. As long as someone responsible and trustworthy is watching after them, I won't mind. If shit happens, heads will roll... and I don't mean the one on people's shoulders.
  18. A bit off-topic, but I think it'd be nice if someone can arrange (when the time comes) a sort of donation collection so that Tyll doesn't have to shell out a bunch of cash to send all this stuff back. Just a thought (and unfortunately, no, I don't have time to arrange it).
  19. I sent him my OII's with my BHSE. I believe mine are MK1. Well, box says 007A, but the cans are brown leather/cable and champagne housing. Tyll will be able to compare them both side-by-side, It will be VERY interesting to see how wide the gap is between the two.
  20. Sweet! Since Tyll has my BHSE, you can send mine to Tyll... for SCIENCE!
  21. Tyll, please contact Andy to send my 009's your way. I have no time for music right now, and don't even have an amp for them anyway since I sent you the BHSE. It'll broaden your sampling data as well. Go science! Thanks!
