Wavelength WaveLink Asynchronous USB to S/PDIF converter.
There is an impression thread here but as of right now, it's not very informative. A user has all three converters (Musiland, hiFace and VALAB's Teralink-X) but I noticed that everytime he got a new converter, he would always favor the newer toy which raises a question on his credibility.

has anybody heard the MS1i?
Curiously the MS1i and the original MS1 are hard to distinguish because they look virtually alike. The SR60 and SR60i have different housings but these do not. The MS1i sounded really good though given its $100 price-point. In my mind, its biggest weakness is the claustrophobic feel you get from them which I guess is due to the serious lack of air.

Fang's new orthos shipping
Thanks, vicki. I suppose if I could live with the HF2, I will do just fine with this HE-5.

So another converter joins the fray. No mention about it being asynchronous or not though. M2Tech

I saw the RMAF impression thread in the other place and they look awfully bulky. How is the comfort of these HE-5s?

I probably had to rob the bank or something to afford his 'services'... I did the entire process myself with further changes here and there because bloody hell, if you followed the instructions dot-to-dot you would end up with a sibilant monster. All academic of course, because I no longer have my R10.

How does the OP27G compare with the HDAMS? It's getting hard to listen to HDAMS other than the Earth for me because it reproduces the tone and dynamics most accurately compared to the others. Too bad Compass has this slight peakiness/screechiness that can get tiresome after a while. I notice that it's not the fault of my cans because it's present in all of them. The HF2 still has a little bit too much midbass for my liking but I guess I had been spoiled with the very tight bass of my old modded D2000.

Indeed. Well, at least the HF2 is a good writing companion in these long, windy nights. Thick and engaging, just the way I like it. DIY is probably the way to go and I'm sure that the M^3 will be my next amp unless someone can convince me otherwise.

Her Good Girl Gone Bad album is somewhere in my playlist I admit. I think in English we call it a guilty pleasure? I haven't given it a spin nowadays though. Now I wonder how the HF2 sounds with that album.

I guess I'm committing a heresy for listening to Rihanna! @Currawong Did you finally manage to sort things out with your HF2 order? Compass is unfortunately the only thing I have at the moment. I wish I can upgrade but my current thesis is seriously sucking the life out of me. @Hopstretch Not sure if want...

Late to the party but I really like the sound out from the Compass. It sounds exceptional with acoustic guitars and the stuff.

Denon d2000 and Compass or EF2
A friend has both Compass and Pico and according to him, they are about equal using the USB inputs. The Compass sounded really good though with my old modded D2000 which fits the popular consensus that the Denon mates very well with SS amplification. I suppose the Compass is more versatile with its myriads of input options and the ability to tune the sound with jumpers and op-amps while the Pico is more practical with its small size and portability.

Anyone compared them with the venerable D2000?

Just Bought Denon AH-D2000
And I guess to contribute more to this thread I shall add in my impressions as well. I used to own the D2000 and recabled it with some Kimber 4TC (never again, eventhough there is an improvement but the cable is too stiff for HP use) and performed a variant of the markl mod. I especially liked the bass response, versatility and comfort. However, the mids were a little bit too recessed for my liking and no matter what I did, I could never truly get rid of the annoying sibilance issue that seemed to occur around the 10kHz spectrum. In the end I sold it to fund for the HF2 which I hope will be worth it.

Just Bought Denon AH-D2000
Just a heads-up. It seems that based on some threads in HF, the D2000 has undergone a revision as now it comes with a cable that looks like a stock D5000's one. No idea about whether there is any internal revision or whatsoever. I'm honestly interested to see how these 'new' AH-D2000 sound in stock form.

Man, that's one sexy-looking headphone. I can't wait until it arrives at my place, it should be the first HF2 in Indonesia.

Congrats! I just wish he would reply to my E-mails more quickly. I initially wanted to bombard Todd with more E-mails and calls but I guess that could wait a little bit. He seems busy at the moment.

Audio-gd Phoenix
The general consensus based on those threads seem to be that the C2C sounds too smooth and as the result, ends up masking some sonic details.
