It was bit ridiculous at one point as we were barely able to keep up the pace with the rate of water coming into the basement. I have a feeling we may be getting the basement waterproofed this spring as this was the third time there's been water in the basement (the first two instances were nowhere near as bad).

Nothing here, it rained for 3 straight days. Of course, that has resulted in massive flooding for me.

Thankfully, our basement isn't finished. I just had to keep getting the water out as the level was getting way too close to the furnace and water heater. I took today off so I can continue to deal with it since it was still slowly seeping in when the flood control folks left the house at 3.40am.

Spent yet 3 more hours battling the flood. The professionals have finally arrived and here's hoping they can take care of it relatively quickly.

Yep. I did just notice under my account on last.fm inordinate number of plays for CAKE, which I think is mostly a result of them being go-to driving music for both myself and the wife (iPod scrobbling).

Yeah, I looked it up and since she's taking full 12 weeks under FMLA (paid leave as she can use her 9 bazillions hours of sick time to cover it) I won't be able to use it. Oh well.

Thanks. I'm trying to figure out if my case will fall under FMLA (policy here), but it's looking unlikely. Time to use up my vacation time, I guess.
