DFW Texas 1/23/10
I'd be up for a summer meet. It looks as though the interest level for Dallas is pretty low, and I'd prefer something closer. A/C needs to be completely overhauled at the condo, so Port A might be out of contention for a little while. I also wouldn't mind waiting until the Buffalo II is finished, so I have something new to offer.

AKG K1000 re-cable just turned into a bigger project
I may decide it's unnecessary after seeing Fitz' workmanship. As long as he ends up happy with the measurements I see no need to go any further.

AKG K1000 re-cable just turned into a bigger project
Well once again Dr. AKG has an absolutely amazing surgery result. I expected him to make it better, but I'm simply amazed at his result. It goes without saying that a good bottle of Scotch will appear at his door soon. Now I just need to find out what a good bottle of Scotch is. Thanks Fitz!!!

AKG K1000 re-cable just turned into a bigger project
I'm more upset about the deceipt than anything else. They sounded great, so I'm not that concerned about sound issues. It does completely screw any resale value though, as I paid $1000.00, and most likely would be lucky to get half of that, because I'd never sell them without full disclosure no matter how good Fitz' repair might be. Luckily I have no foreseeable plans to sell them, and will almost certainly replace the drivers at some point in the near future.

AKG K1000 re-cable just turned into a bigger project
So I sent my K1000 to Fitz a little while back for a re-cable. Today upon removing the wire mesh grills Fitz discovered someone's handiwork... Nice huh? The person I bought them from mentioned that they had new drivers installed, but forgot to mention the custom port in the side of one driver! He also never mentioned they were installed by anyone other than AKG. I've looked back through PMs here and there to discover who the seller was, but sadly can't find the PMs. I also can't find the sale ad. I do remember he was a young kid from England, and it would have been around November of 2008 when I purchased them. Not that I'd get any satisfaction monetarily, but at least I could warn others here about that member. Fitz mentioned that it looks like a phillips bit may have caused the hole, and indeed it does look as though that may be the case. Two goods things though... 1) I never heard any anomilies due to the hole. 2) I sent them to Fitz! He already has some ideas as how to best repair them, and that guy is Dr. AKG for sure! So it's a bit disheartening to discover this, but I'm very greatful Fitz is on the case. I'll keep you updated.

Those look like a weird interpretation of the old PolK SRA-SDS.- Assemblage 2.6/2.7 and Icarium rants

My issue tends to be with the cost of the ebook. Why on earth should an ebook cost substantially more than an actual paper and ink copy?- I sort of want a pair of good closed phones
I never expected to get hit on at CJ. Here I thought all my teasing about Justin being a bottom boy for sugar daddies was just a joke. Next time I'll just PM him the Tice dimensions in inches conversion in advance so he won't be so enthusiastic. And if he shows even more enthusiasm, then at least he was forewarned. Nothing a little nerve deadening cream can't fix. What was this thread about again?- I sort of want a pair of good closed phones
Funny choice of words, but you really were quite determined to get ahold and find the exact measurement of a Tice. If I weren't so utterly distraught at the prospect of becomming an old perverted troll (like the kind that preyed on me when I was chicken), I would have taken you somewhere and let you find out for yourself. You're certainly cute enough, but I like to think I'm not that guy (at least not yet).- Ipod Touch / Iphone
Billy, It just isn't right that you had to wait in line in the first place. And then to imagine that the asshole you finally talked to didn't give a damn about doing his job...wow, just fucking amazing! And I'm sure he probably promised at some point to do his job, as people were relying on him to do so. To just brush those people off like that is just unacceptable. Leading by example does give people like us at least some self satisfaction though. ...Oh wait...Uhm nevermind.- I sort of want a pair of good closed phones
I'll send them out ASAP, as well as your CJ winnings that I keep forgetting about. Feel free to keep them for a while to fully evaluate them. And I do share my pants with girls, it's what's in my pants that doesn't get shared. I only say that because I'm sure you're more than OK with that. Now Justin (MPI) on the other hand was a bit persistant to get in there. Too bad I have these damn morals, or I'd have given in to the drunken lad.- The Orthodynamic Thread
Not arguing at all Ed, but for clarification the foam headband is now felt covered, that's why the ones at CJ looked different from the one Don posted pics of. If the HE6 sounded better to you, then by all means you bought the right one. I do sometimes think people assume we all hear the same, and that's just not the case. For me the LCD-2 sounded fantastic, probably the best headphone I've heard, and I found them pretty comfy too. - Speaker Porn
