  1. Probably stranded copper wire, but I'll let a more experienced builder chime in.
  2. This is a superb guide to recabling the K1000. I almost feel like I could take on the task myself. I'm not that brave yet, but it's an excellent guide if I ever do decide to do it or have it done.
  3. I'm going to start my own USB cable company. Fuck the carbon and ERS paper, I'm going to wrap mine in bacon!
  4. From Texas I hope.
  5. I'm generally not a fan of Texas. It's just too hot for me in the summer. That being said Austin is a very nice town. Anchorage, Alaska is gorgeous in the summer. Winters are much milder in the Anchorage area than people realize, but they do last for 6 months, and that can get old. I lived in San Francisco for a few years and absolutely loved it. It is rather expensive to live there though. I also lived in Portland, Oregon for a while. I really liked it there, and I love the fact that woodworkers are well supported there. Eventually I plan to move to Portland or Seattle. I'm definitely a Northwest kind of guy.
  6. Fabtastic! You're really refining that mounting system too. It's really looking great.
  7. I prefered it to the Benchmark as well, but the Zhalou D2C w/Zapfilter completely obliviated the DA10 and Benchmark at 1/2 the cost. The Zapped Opus took it a step further, again at well below the Lavry and Benchmark price of admition.
  8. I love the way they look too, but I never could find the on/off switch. You'll love it Al! It'll take a little while to dial it in, but well worth the effort.
  9. Oh that's easy... That's tree wood. The Burled Maple cups look delicious!
  10. I'll keep that in mind. At $150.00 I couldn't pass it by.
  11. Get the cat to kill it!
  12. Mio C520 GPS. Now I can get where I'm going in the new wheels with minimal effort.
  13. FIFY What can Brown do for you today?

    It'll enlarge your penis.
  15. My thoughts exactly. I love my Darwin! Soon to be recased.
  16. Intersting indeed. I used to have a pair of NAD 2200 amps back in the day. In bridged mode I pumped 400 watts into each of my ESS AMT 1D speakers. They were quite nice sounding amps. At $350.00 ea. for the Outlaws it's hard to see how you could go too far wrong.
  17. Nice score Earl! I had been looking at the same model, but the lack of a balanced analog input won't suit the needs of my balanced system. It's a real surprise to hear you say you prefer it to the Zhalooser101, and the Zapped Opus.
  18. This mirrors my feelings exactly! I'm about as White as a loaf of Wonderbread, and I was born and raised in this country. That being said if anything I'm even more distraught that we let people like this represent the general population. I'm completely embarrased when some backwater redneck, racist like Betty Biggot spouts some insensative, narrow minded retoric when what she's supposed to be doing is representing the view of the majority of her constituants. And I can assure you that is not the view of the majority of her constituants, even in Terrell, Texas.
  19. Welcome to my world! Even the kids down here have gun racks on their Big Wheels. I think Betty Brown should adopt a new lipstick that I could easier deal with! But she'll keep defending her statement, because she has no idea what a moron she is, or why the rest of us might take offense to her absurd remark.
  20. Now all of a sudden it doesn't sound so fun. In fact it sounds really ewwyy. I'm going to go shower now.
  21. Hmmm. All this time when everyone was saying you're a real Stax guy, I thought they were talking about your pickup truck... Now it's all starting to make sense. Really though, great work! I love these kinds of threads, where you really get a chance to learn something. Very interesting stuff, and it will be even cooler if this ends up altering the sound of these headphones for the better.
  22. Wow! You're good! You hadn't even seen it yet. Sounds like fun. Post the pic Smeggy.
  23. Oh definitely, it's great for boats and outdoor furniture, as it's quite resistant to rott. I just meant that I don't find it especially appealing for woodworking in general, considering all of the other wood choices. That is however just one man's opinion.
