I heard a Vandersteen 2Ce setup this weekend and was surprised with what I heard. I think I might grab a pair of these used and continue to save up for my dream Avantgardes in the future.

I know. Around this time I was thinking about getting an O2 and an EA4 as a reward for finishing my boards, but then a good deal on an HP-2 came along I guess I was a little lucky since I put off buying the O2 setup when I read in another thread that build times were close to 4 months, and obviously now this.

Actually all in all a good day, I got off early this afternoon and scut work was minimal It seems philodox and pabbi are the only ones that had dealings with McAlister (correct me if I'm wrong and you got screwed over as well) so if they want to have a public stoning it's up to them to do so. For a more serious answer I really like my Aleph 30. Adds lots of bass and warms up the sound, improved a lot with a proper preamp. Pain in the ass though since it gets so hot and takes at least 30 minutes to warm up and sound best.

Congrats the RS-1 are really nice. IMO the high end Grados need tubes to add some magic to their already awesome sound. I'm thinking of selling my HF-1 and SR-225 (stupid impulse buy since they were dirt cheap) for an RS-1. Seems I can get 4 bills for the HF-1 on ebay But I'm torn since the HF-1 works really well for poor recordings.

If Iron_Dreamer is referring to "that's a ton of plastic for a $1100 headphone" I'd have to agree with him. And the same headband used on a bunch of other Ultrasone headphones doesn't help in setting apart a true flagship from the rest of the herd.
