  1. For on the go, I like using retractable USB cables. Make sure you get one with three wire/conductors (you can usually see three side by side). Otherwise, there can be some connection problems with USB 2.0 devices. I've had issues with the two wire ones not working when tethering my Touch Pro phone and also with the HeadAmp Pico DAC.
  2. How appropriate, the tech flex pattern on the first one looks like a snake.

The Vietnam special "Holiday" from last season is going to be tough to top.
  4. Man, what a mess. But, that looks to be typical Mikhail wiring work.
  5. I wish, it's a little early, though.
  6. Fixed. Anyone posting about supposed flagship headphone release rumors should have to take a ban bet. No proof in a few months = ban.
  7. Ah, fucking shit, Al. That sucks. Hopefully someone can figure out how to fix it. -Ed

    Yay, Season 13 has started!
  9. Or a $2600 Black Box of awesome
  10. I mean relatively speaking. I'm pretty spoiled by the R10's seamless, holographic soundstage.
  11. The soundstage's shape and imaging. Depth and width. The ES3X is more up front and wide, but suffers from the typical headphoney "two blobs" effect. I got a decent seal with the demo JH13 at CanJam. Bass is fantastic as far as I heard. Deep and powerful, but nowhere near the excessive boominess of the UE11 in comparison. The UE11 just sounds muddy in comparison, to even the ES3X.
  12. I still have my Velodyne HGS-10 tiny little servo sub. I did a head to head in home comparison with one of the original Sunfire "True" Subwoofer. The Velodyne blew it away. Much much tighter and cleaner bass, and a lot faster. Of course now I live in a condo with paper thin walls, so my poor Velodyne does not get much love lately. Sometimes if the neighbors decide to crank their stereo, I crank my system to 11, shut off all the main speakers, and just let the 'lil Velodyne crank.
  13. I prefer the UE11's soundstage over the ES3X. But the UE11's frequency response? Not so much.
  14. Not quite yet, but Happy Birthday, David. -Ed
  15. luvdunhill is just giving me shit. LOL.
  16. It could be kind of a Cunt
  17. Was expecting to find a Head-Case melodrama thread about this amp here, but it's not the case. The inane banter and debates on the Head-Fi Phoenix thread about CAST, DAC, etc, makes me skim alot and not read much there. This amp's two box layout is rather interesting to me. Without really knowing too much about the actual circuit, the build quality looks pretty impressive to me. Seems to be an ideal layout for me as well, as I don't like full wdith stereo components. Digital volume control and inputs galore are a plus. One issue I have is the internal conversion to CAST, and how it's converting single ended to balanced. 18. I have the ES3X and will be getting the JH13 soon. I listened to the JH13 demo at CanJam and compared it to my ES3X. The JH13 sounded better in just about every way to me, the difference was not subtle, so it was easy to hear the differences in even meet conditions.
  19. Yeah, they're starting production Friday.
  20. They're actually called Benchmade. But yes, both with "Bench" in them. I was carrying my Ritter MiniGrip as well.
  21. Then why were you on Head-Fi?
  22. Yay, CCM. I dropped out of a lot of lessons with many different instruments there as a kid. I'm listening to Holtz Planets - Jupiter from the weird BluSpec sampler CD I won in the CanJam Auction.
  23. Yeah, portable amps just aren't cutting it. LOL, of course the HD800's aren't exactly portable headphones you can toss into your pocket. The HD800's are certainly slower than my R10's. But not overly so. Yeah, definitely not Qualia fast. But not slow as ""molassas" either. Soundstage is larger and a bit warmer sounding overall than the R10's. The R10's still have better imaging. Detail level is pretty similar. -Ed
