I've spoken to Mikhail about this and if he had to build another SS1 the same as Sleestacks he would really need to charge $25,000+

What about the equivalent gas rectifiers eg 3B28 etc? Any problems with mercury tubes arcing even if the heater has been 'on' (with no plate voltage) for the correct length of time?

Anyone had experience of using them? Problems or concerns?

It it essential to run the 6BL7 at the higher voltage? What does it sound like at lower voltages?

When the 6BL7's are run at higher voltages is the soundstage greater than with 6SN7's?
