The other thread at Head-Fi said it would be in the $949 range.

GULP! Okay, it's all about the guts and performance so to hell with the price. Anyone got specs on this little mighty might? Think Mikhail would do a custom length on the umbilical?

As I said at head-fi... I just don't get it.

I'm with you. Until he's got at least a similarly sized power supply to go with it (battery or otherwise) I don't quite understand it's purpose. I'll hold further comment till after the official details are announced but it would seem to me a very hard sell at near $1000.

I'm only in if it also includes the free hat.

If you look up "sweetness" in the newest version of Websters, it just shows this hat now.

Lol PostJack, you inspired me to enter a new entry into UrbanDictionary.com:

Sweetness

Definition: What noobs over at the head-fi forum call ALO Cammo Hats. As these nubs become more experienced with the forum, they come to realize that their cammo hat is not in fact sweetness, but actually incredibly lame. Some of the worse off head-fiers get beaten up at school over their ALO hat after being asked by their classmates what ALO is, leading to the kid mistakenly pulling out his $150+ ALO wire (worth $10 in parts) and totally alienating all of his friends. Note that there are no real girls on head-fi, so only teenage boys are at risk.

Example: Dude, my new ALO hat is total sweetness.

Biggie.

I saw this yesterday but didn't have a chance to listen to it. The pot, as with the ones in his new "squarewave" amps is rather rough. Also the unit runs extremely hot, to the point of feeling pain when touching it only for the briefest interval possible. It has to be over 70 degrees celsius.

One of the biggest and emerging problems is the head-fi international meet.

Vendors are now virtually required to have new products at this show and are

now driven by this yearly thing. So instead of coming out with rational new

products when they are ready, many things are hurried along, sometimes

putting current customers on the slow track so that more time can be spent

coming up with new product that may or may not make any kind of financial

sense...

I concur
