  1. Yeah I need to make this official and the take all the sorb idiots to court here in Iceland.
  2. Maybe something crazy like the Sound Lab MiniStat...
  3. SORB-THAT-SHIT! (TM)
  4. Nahh but these keyboards always go like this after a while. Still love them though and it is the only keyboard I want to use.
  5. I just made my own. Photographed the logo in an old manual and then cleaned it up. Some progress and now it is ready for testing. Still missing the normal bias supply but that is trivial at best: It is a very, very tight fit and would be an absolute dog to take apart again...
  6. Ahh yes, the age old "I don't have any leg to stand on, no actual knowledge of the matter but I'm delusional enough to think I'm right so the beautiful, beautiful music will tell all" argument. Classic...
  7. The phono stage is of no use to me so it was scrapped and it will be used line level only. Pretty much had to do it so I could fit the new transformer and PSU board. I'll run the front at at 300V and the output at 600V as it is simply easier with the regulated PSU. I replaced everything so the new output filter network will be fun to test out as I converted to balanced. Those are KOA SPR2 resistors.
  8. For a 100$ they are fine to transplant some other drivers into the shells but even then it doesn't work due to the shitty headband design.
  9. The Hifiman Massdrop headphone is seriously shitty. Sounds like an utter turd...
  10. I did post some updates somewhere but I might as well copy them here: Not much has happened since I posted that but I'll work on the PSU at some point and then I can do final assembly. The schematic is here:
  11. You could have arc'ed them as the diaphragm slammed into the stator. We just don't have enough data on the new diaphragm material to know how it behaves but the resistive coating should have been able to protect it and just dissipate the small amount of charge at the contact point.
  12. Don't go dragging actual physics into this.
  13. I just checked and the 207 uses the same cradle for the driver as the rest of that lineup.
  14. My nestegg is my stash of 2SK216's and 2SJ79's...
  15. It's highly unlikely
  16. Well there is no more P+G as they stopped accepting orders in August. Still digital is better but I for one just prefer the feel of a quality pot.
  17. You can't go stirring up shit on HF by asking logical questions like that. That behavior simply won't do!! Now remove those headbands and step in line!!!
  18. Nahh... I would never settle somebody else with that clusterfuck.
  19. That has nothing at all in common with the P+G RF15 or RF11
  20. That is exactly the point. You can just break one open and check.
  21. The ES-2 chassis is still in storage after my move but I will get to it some day. Not a chance I will build is a dual chassis as while the ES-1 size is nutty the ES-2 is an utter monster.
  22. Wow headphones without a headband...that is pure genius or utter delusion.
  23. The problem is always that you have to be expensive to be taken seriously. That applies to everything we humans do as we always associate a higher price with better performance when we have no actual point of reference. I also think that we've reached the point where manufacturers don't really have to make the call whether they want to sell a few expensive units or a lot more cheaper ones. They can just charge what ever they want and the sheep follow blindly.
  24. I very much doubt it.
  25. Yup it uses the Stax connectors. At least they got that one right.
