  1. I've been back on slsk recently. Now nearly 11 years on, it's not as active as it was in the heyday of 2003-2006. Still, it's a place to find things that are impossible to locate anywhere else. I found Redshift - Downtime in FLAC via a guy from Argentina. Seriously look at the sale prices of a used copy of that album. Anyway, the point is that last night I met a guy who makes atmospheric DNB in the style of mid-90s LTJ Bukem. The photo above is of his studio. It's kind of weird and torn because he took it from a 3D panorama or something. It's a small world, that blue sequencing looking thing on the left is a Yamaha RM1x. I bought one of those new in 1998. I still have it, but it's little more than a dust collector these days. :/ I listened to a couple of his tracks, they're pretty good: Rapid Transport is a collaboration with the mirthfully-titled "James Rejoyce."
  2. Trying to embed two YouTube videos at one? You're killing me, smalls.
  3. A thought that bears repeating: iTunes 11 is a steaming pile that would be an embarrassment to MSFT during the height of their Microsoft "Bob" days.
  4. Today, Imgur said to me "Whoa, that's a lot of images! Are you human? [CAPTCHA]"
  5. to the user with the most mystifying custom title!
  6. LMD was better known for her punk rock and no wave efforts, but on her debut album in 1979 she did a disco cover of Arthur Brown's "Fire." Uncharacteristic though it may be, her rework is absolutely killer. She substitutes Arthur's famous burning horns for a tousled mop of hair (that drove at least one YouTube commenter nuts, click through to see) and what looks like a marching band uniform. Nice bokeh!
  7. In today's installment of Unnecessarily Large GIF Theatre: Nice straw man argument you've made.
  8. WAT. Terence and Bill would agree.
  9. This is definitely the right thread.
