Wow. This brings back memories. It's been 8-9 years since I played Fallout 1. It's truly a great game. Fallout 2 is much, much bigger, and fixes some annoying mechanical issues in the original. That said, Fallout 1 is a more satisfying, complete game. The first time I got to the glow, I gave my NPCs and even Dogmeat Rad-X, but ISTR that's not necessary. Having a tough radiation resistance and lots of drugs is essential, however. I only got the "You die of radiation sickness" ending once. A reload and more Rad-X fixed it, I think. I have a copy of Fallout 3 that's been sitting here for almost two years waiting for me to play it. I should have a machine for said purpose in a couple weeks. That will certainly be a time sink/end of my social life.

My father died 10 years ago today. For reasons I'd rather not get into, I spent most of the day dealing with people and situations I'd rather have avoided. I think I'm going to spend the rest of the day elsewhere.

As I mentioned in another thread, a local DJ that I know killed himself last month. I just found out about it today. Apparently I'm more out of the loop than I realized. He was also an avid laserist, to the point of building his own full color RGB system with X-Y galvos and ILDA control. Below are some photos I took of his setup early this year. Did lights at a riverside pallet (fire) party. Got dust and sand all over my gear. Did an early AM sunrise dub set, which was awesome, but... (A) the local idiot reggae DJ got on the mic and yapped over half my tracks. he was so excited that someone else was playing (dub) reggae that he had to jibber about it endlessly. ( the site owner shut down the music 2 hours early meaning my set got seriously truncated. Went to bed at noon, got up at 5PM. It's going to take me all week to recover from the weekend. Found out DJ DevNull, the only non-asshat DJ at the local goth night, and an avid laserist, commited suicide late last month. \ Right now I am seriously considering buying a new bottle of Scotch.

I have never bought Scotch by mail before, but this might convince me to try: Ardbeg Uigeadail Traditional Strength Islay Single Malt Whisky (Was $100) 750ml - SKU 1011309 Oogie for $70.
