Markl Mods
Let the d-bag sell a "service" to idiots who would pay cash for a simple mod that requires little toolery and parts. It still looks like a case of "I want my money, all mine" to me.

Flying Peppermill?
It looks like it'll just fly away any minute now.

Flying Peppermill?
I like what I see and I may have to contact you sometime in the future about a wooden headphone hanging object...

Ridax for docks, whatever for wires/cables, and wherever for connectors. I like Markertek and Redco.

Solder not flowing
I left my iron on the wire for a good few seconds and nothing. What I was seeing was either bad iron (don't think so, because when I desoldered some wire from a little driver tab that solder melted fast) or bad solder (I'm beginning to suspect this is the case, because I can't even tin my iron properly; it just gobs on the tip without flowing and turns nasty dull).

Case work?
Thanks, I was stuck in the "cases must be 'enclosures'" mentality, but you reminded me of the awesome creative cases, as well as the good old mint tin cmoy. I don't have a background in tinkering so I don't know what tools to use that much, though. Will drills drill through aluminum without breaking it? Standard bit drills?

portable headphone amp and the TSA
Start talking about the amazing sonic qualities of opamps and capacitors and overwhelm them with geek power. Maybe throw in an aside about the current portable market and USB DACs.

Solder not flowing
I'm too young for viagra And flux: I thought that too, but Wonder Solder has rosin flux inside, and I had no problem at all the last time I used it. It really was wonderful.

Solder not flowing
I always put it on my eyeball, like Tangent said to do.

Solder not flowing
I'll go steal some from a friend, but for now I'm baffled as to why it's doing this. I had no issues at all when I did this back home. I think it's heating up properly, because when I turn the heat up all the way the tip oxidizes like crazy; it turns blue!

Solder not flowing
That's the thing, I get the same issue with a brand new tip.

Solder not flowing
I don't know what's going on, but my solder just isn't flowing. It's Wonder Solder 0.031" and I tried every temperature from 390F to 800F, it melts but just blobs on the iron and stuff. I was able to desolder some previously connected wires, but I can't tin my new ones. I'm thinking the solder is bad (I bought this new since I used up the last batch of Wonder Solder I had is used up) but any other insight is appreciated. I'd really like to get going on these projects I've had on hold for too long.

Post the last thing you bought!
Hakko 936-12 ESD station, because I think my Xytronic one is dead. I didn't feel like shelling out $20 for a *possible* fix through ceramic heater thingy.

electrostatic sound
I traded for some Sextetts, so not that expensive. If it turns out I am allergic to them, we can work something out. I hope. I've been allergic to a bunch of stuff in the past and the previous owner had no issues, so I'm assuming you'd be fine with them too. I'll have to keep them around for a bit longer if guzziguy wants to hear them, though.

electrostatic sound
... I might be allergic to (something on) my ECR-500. I wiped the pads down with a wipe, but if my eyes act up the next time I pull it out... I may have to part with it. ... and buy some Stax!

ATH-CK7
I just have to get this out, but the CK5 is one of the worst things I've ever heard music through.

Favorite Decade For Music
The pull tab is unreliable since some banana skins are just so tough you end up fighting it for a good ten seconds before getting it open, and rather messily. The other end is hassle-free on every banana; you just pinch the very end and it pops open because that's just how the banana splits.

Favorite Decade For Music
But bananas open easier, neater, quicker from the "wrong" end. Just sqeeze, and it opens up. No more trying to tear that "tab" off while smashing the contents inside. WHERE IS YOUR GOD NOW?

Is this the anti head-fi forum or what?
Do a little more reading, as in go to older topics and read about stuff that's happened. But yes, it's pretty obvious most members here are not happy with the current state of HF.
