  1. Mouser # 161-7300-EX are pretty nice but the mounting nut on the inside can be a pain. Digi-Key # CP5-43502PM-ND are also nice but expensive... http://www.cui.com/product/components/connectors/audio/3.5-mm-jacks/sj5-43502pm
  2. Thanks. I dunno how much it will do to fix stupid (I should have stopped to wipe off my glasses) but I think it may be time to order a kachina doll and some zip ties.
  3. Dunno if I should laugh or sigh.... One of the farms along the bike trail has their irrigation thingy set to close and it was spraying water across the entire width of the trail. Temps were in the mid 90s today so I figured what the heck, might be nice and blasted right through it. About a mile later I reached up to wipe the dried water spots off my glasses and hit a 4" chipmunk hole. Ended up flying ass over tea-kettle into the weeds at 22 miles an hour (it was a slightly down-hill stretch)..... The road rash on my knee and arm will heal but my poor Cateye may have seen it's last day. http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/6964/zg2l.jpg
  4. http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/bik/3889614599.html Could be a nice deal but... yeah. An out of local area Craigslist ad and used wheels you can't road test sound like a fail waiting to happen?
  5. Nice hybrid bike. X4 on the podium big chill but I also have a pair of polar bottles that don't have leaky tops. Played tag with a deer for a while yesterday....
  6. Thanks. Dunno if helps but this thread from a female cycling forum has a ton of information about saddles. http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=39475 (the specialized saddles have almost a cult like following there so....) Me to but the Tifosi seeks with fotech lenses are very tempting... Especially at $50 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tifosi-Seek-FC-White-Black-Sunglasses-with-Smoke-Fototec-Lens-/400525966479
  7. Meh, got about a mile down the road today and got zapped on the bottom lip by a bee. Here's hoping that evens the score for running over the squirrel.
  8. How many bad karma points for running over a squirrel? It ran onto the trail and stopped. I swerved to avoid it and it ran right back in front of me. Didn't see it on the way back so....
  9. Gave it another light coat today, was pretty clean considering. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b393/X86inside/P1000812_zps81f9d44e.jpg
  10. One of my friends gave me a half a bottle of the rock n' roll extreme so I gave it a try earlier. The chain did not feel gritty and looked pretty clean when I came in but I was not really in the mood to play with it after a 30 mile ride so will see how it fared tomorrow.
  11. Yep, I usually wipe it down with a solvent soaked rag after a ride and then apply more lube, let it soak for a few minutes, take the bike for a quick spin around the block and then wipe it down the drive train with a clean, dry rag and then wipe it down with a solvent soaked rag again before riding it. With it being as dry as it was the dust on the Kal-haven trail was like really, really fine cement dust and even the tires get caked with it. Last night's storms will help matters for a few days but....... Good read, thanks for sharing it.
  12. The idea was to have different lubes for different conditions but after reading the reviews for rock n roll extreme at MTBR think will scratch that one off the list. (don't really need to mess with a lube that will not play nice in cold conditions)
  13. Think will give the finish line ceramic stuff a go... http://www.ebay.com/itm/390605833543 Maybe this one to while I'm at it http://www.ebay.com/itm/300910012284
  14. Which chain lube for dry and dusty conditions? I normally use Chain-l but cleaning the chain every other day has got old, fast.

  16. Bluesky also has the 105 cassette for $40... http://www.blueskycycling.com/product250_33_-Shimano-105-5700-Cassette-10-Speed.htm This one from eBay ends in an hour, would be a nice deal if it stays in the current price range... http://www.ebay.com/itm/330923621644
  17. A quick check at Sears parts direct.... Replacement igniter assemblies for your current unit are $34 each plus shipping. A quck cross check at e-replacement parts.... Replacement burner head assemblies with igniters range from $32 to $48 each plus shipping depending on the serial number of the cooktop. Assuming you don't break something taking it apart it's a ten minute installation. Or call the local appliance service dude and see if they will give you a quote?
  18. Steve Hogg's comments are reminding me of a certain audio blogger again. http://www.stevehoggbikefitting.com/blog/2011/04/power-to-the-pedal-cleat-position/ Interesting article though.
  19. Ouch. Try a vinegar compress, they help with wasp and or bee stings.
  20. Cute little light but 7 lumens is not very bright. What the heck is up with the thing he has strapped to the seatpost
  21. From http://www.roadbikeaction.com/Features/content/67/5123/The-Bottom-Bracket-Breakdown.html The spacer would work but I would want the exact parts I ordered.
  22. Except for the series of scars (from a missed landing) I always liked my Sun Zuzu pedals. Check out the Xpedo Face Offs if you want something with a little more bling. Link from eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/400381332398
  23. I don't remember embeding a link. Funny though, the link took me to the local shop's site and the clerk told me two weeks when I stopped in earlier today. (which is exactly what he said last month)
