Spreadsheet now has more editable lines. I've put your HC id in, so please add your number to the board type you want in the spreadsheet. I've put your HC id in the spreadsheet, so please put your 3 in the board column you prefer. No exact price estimate yet, but 3-4 USD a piece would be a guess... Your HC id is in now, too, so please fill in board type and numbers. For others who want boards; the name column will remain locked since I don't want to mess up the pot part of the GB in the spreadsheet. If you want boards, just send me your HC id and I'll add you to the name column, after which you can state type and number in the board columns.

Don't have the part code off the top of my head, but it's a 4CP-601 10K with audio taper and no mechanical stops. They should be able to provide a quote from that info.

Someone might but I don't think I am; I stocked up when running the current one so I now have pots for any foreseeable build in the next year or two....
-
Will do but travelling at the moment, so will fix that when I get to a proper computer.... Update: Done.

Paid, thanks!

Sorry to say, but I closed the GB and placed the order a few days back, and for various reasons its not possible for me to add more pots to the order (I've sent you a longer explanation over PM). I'll refund the paypal payment as soon as it shows in my account. However, if you look in the audio gear for sale post, I think JohnWMclean posted a bunch of different quad pots for good prices yesterday (an updated spring sale post), so I would recommend having a look there unless they are gone already. So, it turns out that TKD just now are changing pin size for the 2511 because they are switching production materials for the internal pot PCBs. The former type (green color) has 3.0mm width terminals, while the new type (black color: injection molding) has 2.5mm terminals. We will get the latest type for our 2511 order, so 2.5mm is the correct pin size. Advice on the change of the resistor board 3-1.pdf

Will do!

I can ask, but I got the CP2500 data sheet directly by e-mail from TKD when discussing pot setup, and it's same as the one posted above, indicating 2.5 mm pin size, so I think that's what they think it is now at least I have a 601 that was produced in may this year, I can check pin size on that one one I find my caliper and see if it matches the data sheet. update: I've measured, and the 601 does indeed seem to be 0.8 mm pin size.

Better safe than sorry in this case I think...

Funny, I have started to think along those lines too but was a little afraid to say it, because I don't have the filter math skills to back it up I realized that the effect is recognizably similar across what must be very different recording rooms. I guess that makes it more of a reverb effect than anything else. If it comes from interaction with the dither as you suggest, its character would then be defined by dither type rather than recording room properties. Fascinating thought.

Savor the moment Happens way too seldom for me... I think it's brilliant marketing; if you're not into filter math/theory it makes the competition look like approximating amateurs . That said, I prefer it to others for stuff recorded in something bigger than a studio booth. Good for the perception (illusion?) of space.

Ayre's take on why apodizing, min-phase, slow roll off filters is where it's at and what they prefer. Should be the same as HQplayer's poly-sinc-shrt-mp. https://www.ayre.com/white_papers/Ayre_MP_White_Paper.pdf

STATUS UPDATE: TKD has confirmed the GB order including the pots with extended shafts, and started production. So now we wait
-
Well, it's only been a few hours of listening, but I have come to pretty much the same conclusions. The closed from does something with the room presence, the room gets smaller but the sense of space is stronger. The poly-sincs have better bite, but a little less "in-the-room" feeling. I guess it comes down to what music it is and where it was recorded. For me, current conclusion is closed form for jazz, chamber music and live concerts from small to medium size venues. Poly sinc for stuff with lots of electronica in it. It's wonderful to be able to choose I should add that for me, it takes the high end gear to make the distinctions. Carbon/007 yes, HD800/Sysu Dynalo yes, HD650/M3 no...

Went down the HQplayer rabbit hole a while this weekend. Brilliant piece of software! Many thanks to @Sherwood for posting this! Soon realised that Jussi (the coding guy behind HQplayer) implemented a closed-form filter a few months ago, the merits of which Schiit has devoted a long section of their Yggy FAQ to. Pretty much the secret sauce in the Yggy. So for anyone who would like to try that sauce without buying the Yggy, here's the free trial option. Of course, a DAC is so much more than the filter and algorithms may differ, etc but it makes for a very interesting listen. Found a nice explanation on the merits of closed form vs apodising filters at http://www.computeraudiophile.com/f11-software/hq-player-20293/index147.html#post475586

Ok, not so long evening, a bad solder joint it was. Nice and steady at 120 ma now. Guess I have to go watch a movie instead. Boring Many thanks for both of your very quick responses!!!
-
Great, thanks! Can't get more than halfway there, so I've screwed up somewhere... Makes for a nice evening of troubleshooting
-
Just double checking: 120ma, not mv? Can't get near the ma version, so thought I'd ask before pulling things apart...

The POTs section of this GB is now officially closed. Entries for pot boards (type and quantity) can still be updated and edited. Also, if you need your shaft(s) extended, now is the time to make that known I will be placing the order tomorrow.
-
Great, thanks!
-
-
Well, I can't help but feel a bit cheap when advertising shaft extensions for a small fee
-
Done. Regular will be the default option if no choice is indicated. I agree Those who want extended shafts, please indicate so in the spreadsheet.

14 mm above the threaded part for 4CP-601, 10 above the threaded part for 4CP-2511, if I remember the data sheet correctly.
