  1. Then I gotta go with pretzels, especially chocalate ones
  2. As long as it doesn't have that w2002 clinicalness and depth thing going for it then the w5k should be fine. But if does sound too much like the w2002 then they have achieved nothing when the potential was there.
  3. Would it be possible to integrate computer section for audio/DIYers/Games players. It doesn;t need to be split in to subforums, just a general would suffice for the time being.
  4. The w10 ltd is different sounding to the w1k, w2002. In this respect it has more in common with the jpn but not as smooth or refined. It has quite a good bit of body and technically it's pretty good. But while it does have the qualities it was like an AT version of hp-2's. Good if you like that sort of thing but dull if you don't.
  5. I got a question what's a churro...seriously
  6. waht happen later on if a poster wanted to post in it after it was removed or locked by the orginal poster. They would be inclines to start another thread. Like "Recommend an amp thread" it would create multiple threads and waste bandwidth
  7. Foe people out of the loop it is a x-ray tube that Keving Gilmore used to find out the op amps in the Ray Samuels sr71. He presented it to Ray as a "gift". There seems to be a certain "tension" between the two men. BTW Hi to old friends and new ones.
  8. I am sure he would let pfk if he asked him nicely. I mean it will be under meet conditons but if it gives you a sniff of the sound and you find you like it tehn all is good. But if you don't like it then no biggie either as people hear differently and have different preferences and requirements
  9. While GE opinion might be good and all you must remember that it is you that will end up with it. Is there anyway you could audition it. The lavry has the potential to become a bargain worth getting. Or it could end up as another FOTM and when you look back it might hit you that it never sounded good in the first place.
  10. If this is the case then it in theory will bring a pc source more up to the level of a dedicated cd transport. If they have implementated it right then it looks set to be a winner. If it is a reclocking dac it will be worth checking out. If it is an upsampling dac then that's different
  11. Well I wonder what happened if you add a reclocking dac instead. That might even things up I suspect
  12. I do love the Rs-1 with the old EMP. I used that combo for quite a while. I t was so much simpler then. I actually didn;t mind using it with bowls as it certainly had the stereotyped tube sound. I use to like using it with a lot of live accoustic rock sets. Where pace and bass control is not a paramount issue. One of the warmest sounding combo's I have heard so far. Strangely enough I did not like the senns with the EMP or the EMP a.e. I still miss that combo.
  13. I was wondering how headphone users like their bass impact. I.e how much you feel when a bass note is played.

Hi thaddy and Mjg. I haven;t seen you in a while thaddy?
  15. Well it's kinda of more hopefully where people can have discussions without being flamed and insulted and people being driven away. Also where you can post about what you think about an amp and not have a 1000 fanboys all over you for your opinion. That's the thinking behind this. What the reality brings is up to you.
  16. even though at the moment there is not a no swearing policy I think most people will not be continously cursing. Most will be respectful and civil. Or at least i hope so. Mjg>Hey there dude it's good to see you here. I saw the stick you got. It's nice to have you on board

how do you find this headphone compared the the hp-series phones? The reason I ask is so that I can guage an idea on how they sound. I have not heard them myself.
  18. There seems to be a lot of good press about this dac. Do any of you have anything to comapre it wise in it price range? dac1, minidac? It would be interesting to see how it shapes up to them.
  19. Well the r-10 reference was a joke. That's just as impractical than the Ps-1 if not more so.
  20. The problem with using the Ps-1 is that it's not practical for portable use. Expense, heavy for most users, comfort issues, it leaks sound in and out, cable has to be shortened, due to the weight it easily slips off if someone points there head up or down. the cups would protrude and not be desirable.
  21. well depending on your budget and mainly your room size which have an relative effect on how well the speakers will sound in your room. You might want to take a look at the Sonus Fabers. While I cannot say these are of the warm tonality you are looking for they are often described as being refined. It may prove too refined for some though.
  22. You describe the emp a.e as rich do you mean it has tonal balance on the warmer side of things which may prove too much for office use rather than home listening?
  23. Dude you are such a geek. We are only trying it out to iron bugs and stuff. I think the R-10's are the best in teh world for ipod use.
