I'm tempted to sell my 750 and get a pair of grado
  2. treble on K701 is unbearable for me, and I use Proline 750 now
  3. so in the end, the higher price we pay oversea is just for those distributors? Grado gains about the same as they do by selling cans in US?

ALO took off some kind of circuit board which suppose to protect the can from damaging in HFI-780 btw, it's good to know that my PL750 isn't too bad
  5. Cankin replied to Fungi's topic in Headphones
oh, I'd probably leave my PL750 as is.

Anyone heard balanced ultrasone?? do they improve much just like HD650??
  7. which balanced amp will you be using??
  8. 17-35 f2.8 ED-IF-AF-S on a FF, that should be real fun for landscape
  9. Any heard balanced CK2III? any comments??

    I like X japan's ballad collection, "Forever love", "Tears"...etc
  11. should I get another headphone and amp? people are constantly laughing at ultrasone and opamp based amp
  12. Yeah, the effect was really obvious but the overall sound sig didn't change much, high is still pronounced but less harsh now My PL750 is only a step in this headphone journey, my next step would be a higher end grado
  13. I must have faulty ears, I really did experience the burn in effect on my ultrasone and I think is sounds decent
  14. I bought mine from MisterX.
  15. after a week of burn in, my m^3 with 3 ad843s doesn't sound bright as before
  16. don't worry, I saw that thread it's a beautiful M^3
  17. did you get a M^3 or Mini^3 ?
  18. Just removed those AD744s from my M^3 and put AD843s in it. It sounds almost the same as before. But it runs hotter than before, so I won't put my 0404 USB on top of it now. I'd probably try OPA627, but I can't find it anywhere.
  19. AD744 currently Don't know what to expect from AD843s actually, and I'd probably try something from BB later
  20. I just ordered AD843 x 3 too am I'm using an elpac :'(
  21. The little of brightness I mentioned probably caused by some other factors beside the can. My 0404 is 1 day old, my M^3 is less than 1 week old, and I guess more burn in may help. The cheap IC between my 0404 and M^3. Quality of the recording, on certain songs, I didn't find it to sound bright at all. I just started this hobbie less than a year ago and I'm still trying cans from different brand. Of course, I'll get new cans later
  22. but actually, I like it pretty much, from my experience with K701 and Hd650. PL750 is less bright than k701 and more sub-bass, more detail, and faster than Hd650, and I need a good closed can to block noise but of course, If I have a chance to hear recabled or balanced k701 or hd650, my opinion may change so, back to opamps searching
  23. I paid about Cdn $400 and on going rate is about $200, a return of -50%........NPV = -200 haha, I major in finance...I decided to keep it and get the new dynamic form Senn later
  24. But changing opamps seem to be the easiest way for now??
