  8. Having never heard electrostats, I'd say 'to a degree'.
  9. Re-did/finished the first row. Still have to clean the grunge deposited from handling the nails and hit them with a punch to get them all the way in, unless I feel like denting each piece. Still glad I chose nails over their glue though. There is almost one entire 5ib bag of polyfill in this one row. Now that I look at it, I think I'll want at least 2 rows on each side of the ceiling.

  11. Heres an in-progress pic. I may re-adjust that third one, its slanted a bit. They take a lot of polyfill though
  12. Auralex MiniFusor | Sweetwater.com I never measured the room. Back when I installed these 12 panels, the room was vastly improved. More so than any other 'tweak' I've ever done. Auralex MetroFusor | Sweetwater.com So basically I'm a born-again believer for diffusion. The little 'mini fusors' are nice for the area I'm putting them in, as the other 2' x 2' squares are too large. I'm not settled on what I'm doing to the back wall yet, but I'm mostly just trying to get rid of as much flat wall surface as possible, since its such a small room. I'm going to see if I can snap a picture in a moment to give a better idea...
  13. I'm putting some rows of these diffusors up on my side walls, near the ceiling. I currently have 16, but now realize I'm going to need more, so I'll be ordering some more in the coming weeks. They are hollow on the inside, so I basically just wad up a big chunk of polyfill for each piece, and nail them to the wall. Its a bit tricky without a second set of hands though, as I came to find out today. I think I'm going to put one row on the walls, and another basically right up against them on the ceiling, which, because of their proximity to each other, should sort of act as bass traps in addition to diffusion/absorption. Well, not bass traps per se, but they will help de-square the corners of the room a bit. They should do a little bit of everything, really.
  14. 2 5lb bags of polyfill. Room treatment time again.
  15. ^^ now we just need ikea to make a desk big enough for them. i bet you could squeeze them on a desktop computer rig, why not?

  18. I'd rather not know, myself.
  19. it looks like a rather nice unit in the luxman, but I'm just going off superficial looks as I dont know all the technical info you guys do. Also odd is that its almost in the middle of the machine, usually they are near the IEC plug, or so I thought. I dont suppose the picture above shows if it has the usa-ready primaries/windings/whatever. Hell, even if its expensive, I'd still be better of paying someone to build one than pay the extra for the US version (again, assuming its just a voltage difference).
