  1. I see the Senn Rep has quashed all rumors of an HD680, 700 and 750 over at H-F so it seems the 6xx series still has plenty of time before they're replaced in the lineup.
  2. Of those I've heard, I put it on top. Modded of course. For me it beats: T50v2 NAD T40 Mk2 T30 Wharfedale Iso Yam 2,1,100 Pro 30 All SFI variants I've made. All the 'stats and electrets I've heard. (no 02) Of course, this is all imo and I'm not the best modder so others may be getting much better results from theirs. For my ears and prefs the RP (driver) is amazing. Hmm, asshole heads. Yeah, sounds about right
  3. 'ello
  4. Dusty, that new avatar of yours is oddly disturbing to me, like he's about to bite into the brains of a younger sibling. Mmmm, tasty looking brains...
  5. Fixing dealer prices is what Grado does. It's very strange. I never thought I'd be even partially excited about a Sennheiser but it seems the talk, previews and hype is getting to me a little. I'm starting to get urges to see/hear that new ring driver..... ack!!
  6. Ahahahahaaaaaahahahahahahahaahahahahah!!!!111!!!1!1111 Fucking priceless, I love that place
  7. The RPs arrived very swiftly from them and nicely packed.
  8. I've been reading the 800 thread over there and the sheer number of rubes asking about aftermarket wires is verging on the insane. Not one of those fucktards have any idea what the 800 even sound like, whether any of the super 'spensive wires will be any sort of upgrade, or even consider that Senn themselves can pick a decent bit of wire. I imagine dozens will buy overpriced wires without even thinking... or listening. Tools!
  9. I'm not a native, I'm from the UK. I just work here
  10. I'm extremely happy they've finally departed from the thick sound of the 6xx series. If I ever have money in large amounts spare I might even consider buying some. Not likely to happen, but it looks like a Seattle head-fier is ordering a set so I might get a listen at a meet in the future.
  11. Awesome news, lets hope this one, at least, is resolved. Congrats on securing a tracking number
  12. This whole thread is sad, for everyone it seems. Reading all this makes me wonder how he's still in business and continues to get customers. It is surreal and I'm very happy I'm not involved.
  13. What? You have a setup? Damn, I always just wing it on every cup and hope they come out vaguely similar That's what happens when you give tools to tools
  14. I wasn't sure either until I replaced it... heavy damping/loading may do the trick. I thought I damped and loaded mine pretty well but apparently not as well as it might be. I think the driver may well be the best ortho driver yet, for me anyways.
  15. LIES!!!!!! mine is the bestest... *pouts*
  16. I blasted the shit out of mine over a few nights at very high volume off my power amp. The housings are very thin and if you tap the housing you see just how crappy they are. There's no padding of any kind inside to damp them. Even when damped it's still not solid enough to let the driver work well. It's like a loudspeaker with a plasti case, no matter how much damping you apply it'll never sound as good as a solid/rigid box.
  17. If you look at my photos on the previous page you'll see how they should look, soft and smoothish, not crinkly like the Koss-style pads of old.
  18. I tried looking for a lucite head and came across these really cool headphone hangers... Stick it to a wall and it'd be perfect
  19. The bass is great walt, better than the NAD and T30. Supra it's too much!
  20. Ooh, she's hot!!
  21. They need a few days to loosen up, more than I was expecting. The diaphragm seem tight to start with and they went fairly low but not much power there, now... holy crap. I even said on H-F that these will never be bass monsters with that piddly little driver. Was I ever wrong. A week or so later and these completely outclass all the other orthos easily (with appropriate mods).
  22. Nate, the fading in and out is a problem with the arecup connector, swiveling the connector a bit should help. Mine did the same, one reason mine are rewired. On the efficiency thing, I don't have trouble driving mine from a DAP or any of my amps. I still can't say enough about getting them properly housed. they are just outstanding. Mine now have Omega1 pads and some internal epoxy putty molding inside the pads. They're fairly heavy but very solid and I love all aspects of them. I can't point to a single thing I would like to improve. For me they do just about everything perfect. The driver is unbelievably hampered by the housing. Solidity and mass are the two keys to these things. Add them and the driver becomes a real eye opener.
  23. Everyone notices Cake Dalek or they get excakinated!
  24. That's right, teh interwebs hates you.
  25. Yeah, another thing I didn't know was that animals are made of food! How fucked up is that, no wonder everything wants to eat them.
